Very nice indeed, that is going to add lots of adventures!

I need to get my jungle together, I have three different plastic plants right now but I want to add palm trees too, guess I need to get looking for them.

Thanks, Doug!

I like it a lot, myself! Now I've got a temperate forest and a jungle. But I think I need more ruins and shanties!

Nice.

How big is that board?

Thanks, friend!

It's 90x60cm (3x2'), I think.

Sweet Jungle mate!

Thanks, mate!

I've got an old GW Lizard swarm, individually based, some Alternative Armies' crypt scorpions and giant spiders, perhaps some Loud Ninja Games' Ikwen and I'm trying to source some Tyranid Rippers.

Beautiful! Your board looks great!

Ruins! Definitely more ruins they can lead to all kinds of stuff, archeological finds, treasures, alien artifacts the list just goes on.

I need to get a set of GW  lizard swarm, I have lots of figures but no creatures or monsters to speak of, I guess I need to work on that.

Again what a great board!

Here is an idea you may wish to try for adding to your board terrain.

I should build more of them.

Thank You,

I made those some time ago and they have held up very well with almost no warping what little did happen is really  not noticeable at all.

Like I had mentioned I really should make more.

That's a neat trick! - Do you think you could tint the glue with an ink say as you use it?

I have thought of that but I haven't tried it.

I do use glue for this purpose and it works pretty splendidly. The best advantage is that glue dries with "bulk" and doesn't end up a thin layer like gloss varnish. I've found that the best way to tint the overall color is to mix in a bit of wash, rather than paint or ink. Ink could work, but would need to be used very sparingly since it is so pigment heavy to begin with. Washes seem to tint more subtly.

The "puddles" in this build (front left/Right of the figure base) were made using wood glue and some sepia wash. It is maybe a bit hard to tell here, but it dried a thicker brown see-thru with a little bit of gloss to the surface.

Again, used this technique to create the swampy area around this "engine fallen from the sky" terrain. Same wash/glue batch but applied in larger areas.

I've done it with blue ink on sea terrain tiles, and it looked great. Needed multiple coats, though, drying inbetween.

I was hoping that this quarantine business would free some hobby time, but being home with two kids (4½ and 2½ years old) has unfortunately made me even more tired.

Hopefully we've all in the family had Covid-19 by now, I've had symptoms indicating it (shortness of breath, fever, shivers, cough, fatigue, joint pain, sore throat), but if we're unlucky it might only have been an ordinary flu.

Hopefully the kids will be back in kindergarten soon and me back at work, so that I will be able to have some hobby time again  ;)

Stay safe - everyone.
Thanks for the tip about using a wash rather than an ink.
