Curse you Dan, you're ahead of me! I've been working on a similar idea for some time now.

Dan

I love what you've done with that boat and the beach.

Just fantastic 8)

Your figures are very good.

Great looking stuff, I love the way you have done the sea and the beach.  :)
Its a great game inthe making and the finished trawler looks splendid.  :)
I was just watching one of the many repeats of Dads Army on saturday night. I still love that programme and never get tired of seeing each episode. :)
Please post an after battle report once you start playing :D

Thanks for the replies .
We hope to have a game in a couple of weeks to try and work out a few things but are aiming for a Demo later on in the year so will post a full report of that.

We had a playtest of some rules which were a variation on GW's Mordheim set . They seemed to work well . I did'nt take any photos but some Club members said they really liked what we had thrown together for the game.
Progress since last post. (photos are not very good this time around :-[ )

Support weapons ; both Army and Home Guard.

Odds and ends. ( some head swapping and Green stuffery)

More;

Chieftain vehicles which I might do some more work on as they look a little plain at this stage. They make the Jones Van look really small now. :(

Some row boats which will have to be Guarded.

The shops.

I think I will try with less light next time as my spotlight has really washed out the shops which look much better in reality.

All lovely, Dan. Say, the rowboats, where did you get them?

Really excellent Dan.

Years ago Terry Wise did a series on Operation Sealion for Airfix magazine. I'm sure someone out there will have them. One part dealt with seafront defences, Guns hidden in fake Ice-cream kiosks and the like.

Can I recommend;

'The Last Ditch: Britain's Secret Resistance and the Nazi Invasion Plan' Lampe, D., Greenhill Books, 2007.

'The Battlefields That Nearly Were' Foot, W., Tempus, 2006.

For fortifications, the second book is pretty comphrehensive and well illustrated. The first deals with the 'auxiliaries'.

Dad's Army was, and still is, my favourite comedy of all time.

Don't forget the floral gun cover that Godfrey's sister Dolly made for the Smith Gun!

Hi Dan,

Great looking collection and you have created some lovely buildings in addition.

Thanks for sharing.  8)
