Painted 4 more boyz:

Time for a full army shot methinks :)

Ask and ye shall receive:

And some group shots of the force so far. Sorry the photos are so bad; I have never tried to photograph so many minis at once before. The camera I have (a very basic DSLR – it’s my brother’s which I’m borrowing so I haven’t had much practice on it yet) has the capabilities, but two young children mean only very brief windows for photography. They give an idea of the force, though, and I will try again soon to take better shots.

This will be the core of the army. Blood Axe squads of 5 each, each with a heavy or special weapon, and led by a nob (2nd ed codex).

Thanks chaps. Very motivational. :)

And a  Space Marine patrol, trying to clear the area up:

I painted these about 6 years ago, and would do them a bit differently if I was doing them now, but I’m still quite happy with them. I just varnished them after all that time...!

Really like these Space Marines - especially their camo and packed out look - they look hardcore.

Not sure about the pouches on the legs though.

Thanks!

And yes, the pouches on the legs is one element I would not do the same again; I agree it looks a bit silly.

With the addition of the marines this is turning into a very nicely themed gaming set.  Lovely :)

Thanks.  :)

The positive comments I have got have inspired me to add to this marines force, and bulk it out to two or three squads and one or two vehicles (ie a full army for 2nd edition :)).

I will need to think of a chapter to designate them, as I have not done that yet (oops). Perhaps Raptors, or Sons of Medusa....? Hmmm.

Also, given the faux ultra-modern vibe to them, perhaps a 1/48 M2 Bradley or similar instead of a Razorback....?

Oh dear.
