They all look great. If you like the example colours then why not indeed. Thanks for sharing

Liche Lord looks great ... I went Purple ... now wishing I had gone black!
Love those wolves ... where are those from?
Can you stick them next to some other minis so I can see how big they are?
... and great work on the flagstones under that lamp. Very nicely done.
You really are banging this stuff out!!!. :D

Thank you Harry!

The wolves are actually Northstar's (or at least sold there), and they have been adopted into the official Frostgrave line (found under bestiary)... I am a bit of a purist (though I am starting to believe it is more OCD) so I mostly go for "official" miniatures. That's no problem though as I love pretty much the entire Frostgrave range.

I can't show a comparison pic right now, but they are realistically proportioned. They are to the Warhammer Wolves what the Lich Lord is to Nagash. Smaller, but more awesome, and more believable.

*cough*and cheaper*cough*

Anyways, they are on the same bases as all my other models here so far (same size as the bases in the Soldiers box), so that could give you a good idea.

Maybe I should rename my thread "The Kev Dallimore Tribute Log". What can I say? I like most of what he has painted, so why change it? It makes my life so much easier painting from example.

No love for the Ghoul King? Poor fella!

Well, the Kev Dallimore Tribute continues, with the Chronomancers:

A shame the picture is a bit blurry, because the woman's face was a huge painting success. She has real life in her and her lips are done pretty well, if I say so myself. Maybe I should do a close up later. It's too dark out now.

Thanks for watching! :)

No love for my Kev Dallimore Tributes?  :o

Well... One more try!

I tried my hand at some lighting effects again... I have had better results... Oh well, it's not half bad. It doesn't show well on the pics though, how the flame casts light on the clothes.

Unfortunately the apprentice, one of my favourite models of the Frostgrave range, was a bit of a miscast. His face was pretty garbled up around the mouth, so I did what I could...

Hope you guys like 'em!

You guys drive a hard bargain!

FINE!!!

No Kev Dallimore Tribute this time then!

After researching Templars a bit, I came across the Teutonic Knights, who also had a really cool vibe going on. Black and white just feels realistic for a knight, so I went with it. I gave him a Fleur-de-Lys emblem, because rule of cool. Unfortunately it is hidden behind his leather strap, but maybe that's for the better.

I felt like doing something else for the Barbarian as well, even though I did like his blue white striped pants. This was fun too, though.

Went black and white for my templar too, though I really am jealous you came up with a fleur-de-lys.. mine just has a plain cross.. :(

And a bit late, but I think your paintjobs are really good! ;)

Great stuff. You must be nearly there with the wizards?
I had a slight miscast but Northstar repleced it without issue.

Thank you guys! My backyard is terrible, but there are two small spots with some raised stone that are perfect for taking pics of my miniatures.

The miscast wasn't terrible. I also didn't feel like waiting for a replacement, so I just did my best working around it. I am steering away more and more from trying to paint the perfect mini. Good is good enough.

As is very evident in the next pic. The reason I have been a little bit quiet these past weeks is I took a break from Frostgrave to paint up a set of terrible yet fun miniatures for my best friend, from the Dungeons and Dragons Fantasy Adventure Board Game.

Not bad, right?

The detail is terrible, anatomy all wrong and they all wield floppy weapons of floppyness -5, but whatever, they were uncomplicated and fun.

Hopefully some more Frostgrave soon. Much nicer miniatures to work on.

Hello everyone,

It's about time I opened up a project log of my own. I've had my warbands set up and ready to be painted for quite a while now, but real life got in the way so it took me a little while before I could get to it.

I decided to start with the most fun part, the wizards. First up, my Enchanter and his Apprentice. Anyone have a good name for my Enchanter? I think the Apprentice will be Björn. He looks like a Björn.

I quite liked the original paint scheme so I stuck with it. Expect me to do the same for the majority of the Wizards... and yes, all of them are on their way. Plus a whole lot more.

Thanks for looking. Comments and criticism are all much appreciated.

Gorgeous paint job!  I hope I can paint that well.  HOw di dyou get that hammer looking like shiny glassy steel? Awesome!
