you gotta love the Luchs and 8 rad :-* :-*
Great work, I like the way they look similar due to the colour schemes, but you have used lots of different camo patterns.
Are these for a particular theatre (Italy?) as you have only used green camo not red-brown as well?
Love the Luchs and the Quad Flak! What manufacturers are those?
Going by the British armoured car is it Grabner's mob at Market-Garden?
Magnificent Brent as always. Good to see you up and kicking again.
Best regards
George Hatzopoulos.
Wow! Nice work! :-*
I particularly love the medical half track and the AA wagon.
CykaSuper Pershing, eh?
I wonder if anyone here plays World of Tanks... ;D
EDIT: Oh hell, I'll post it anyway. It funny even if you don't play.

Excellent stuff again. Can I ask, what do you do to weather these bad boys?
Killing it Brent! :-*
Great work.
Question: do you do a gloss varnish before your oil washes?
Genius!
Painting aint too bad either :-*
This is my wip thread though :)
Speaking of which, please also let us know of any updates to the SABOT project. 8)
Superb Brent :-*
Wow, terrific work!
I know that Opel driver and the misery of getting him behind the wheel...
Fantastic stuff! It keeps getting better and better! :-*
Wow amazing work esp like the Cossack - may I ask what manufacturer he is?
This figure Cossack in German service. On it the German tunic. The Soviet army uniforms looked different.
Wow amazing work esp like the Cossack - may I ask what manufacturer he is?
The figure is about 12 year old Bolt Action Miniatures Cossack in German service. I sculpted it as a one off. I think we have it away as a sample and with orders over a certain amount.

We seem to be in a bit of a "deserty" phase .....
(http://i1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii548/Queeg2/Deserty%20stuff%20085%201000_zpskv4u1boe.jpg) (http://s1259.photobucket.com/user/Queeg2/media/Deserty%20stuff%20085%201000_zpskv4u1boe.jpg.html)
Can't wait to see what you do with my consignment :)
I just had a look at your blog mate. Your Kubelwagen, you show the stages during painting, but then is suddenly goes from 'here I drybrushed the camo colours n the side' to 'and here's the finished product' (I'm paraphrasing here! ;) ) How do you achieve that wonderful weathered, chipped look? (If you don't mind me asking?)
Thanks for the response Queeg! That really helps!
As you say - very definitely a deserty phase (even though it's Italy!)
I meant to ask Brent, how do you do the dust on the Opels windscreens?
Queeg/Brent,
love the stuff you're doing :D I just wanted to ask you about your vehicle painting process a few pages back. You put the decals on quite late in your series of steps. But one assumes these symbols would be subject to fading, rain streaking and what have you. Why don't you put them on earlier in the process?
cheers
EC
And a teaser for our Modern Battlegroup project to go with the new Modern rules we're working on with Empress, I'll probably start a separate wip topic in the "moderns" section for this ....Yes, please do!
:) Alas, the Perry 250/1 does look a bit clunky next to the much more refined Rubicon kit, doesn't it? :(
Lovely painting, but yes - princesses Elsa and Anna next to each other (you can see it in the eyes/headlights).
Should look pretty swish with Richards figures in them I suspect :)
They are waiting in eager anticipation of their ride arriving... :D
As always great great work Brent, enjoyed going through this thread.
Cheers AL
Brilliant stuff Queeg! :-* Your vehicles never disappoint! I'm really liking that reverse highlighting technique. Using dark colours, as opposed to light to edge highlight!
Very nice.
Have you applied shading to the stone yet? Not sure from the photo.
Do you just use washes of your own, or do you use proprietary weathering powders, filters and suchlike?
The progression photo is very helpful to see the stages. I find it very hard to start with a pale enough colour, I always want the first colour to look right rather than waiting till the end for it all to come together.
I never doubted you, Brent :D
Stunning. So good.
Yee of little faith !!!!!
Thanks gents, I always knew it was going to work ..... honest ;)
Suck up! ;)
Well he does have to be nice, I've still got a few vehicles to finish for him !!!!!
Looking wonderful Brent :-*
What's your feeling on these Blitzkrieg vehicles overall, in terms of quality of the model, accuracy and so on?
Cheers Richard ..... and mmmmm thanks for putting me on the spot. On some forums answering this could rapidly lead to excitement levels being raised.
But not here. We're very polite and well behaved here... ;)
But as for building out my tiny tank and vehicle park a little in the not too distant future, it seems like it would be wise to pick and choose a bit more carefully when it comes to the Blitzkrieg vehicles...
Get them all Richard, you can never have too many options lol
Richard, do you visit the Rubicon forum at all? I think the 231 might be due form them next year.
Just ordered the Steyr 1500 from Perry. It's one of my favourite vehicles and the crew look good. Just thinking of ways to tame the slightly gnarly looking tread pattern on the tyres.
Fantastic painting on those tanks! :o Are they all 28mm?
Exactly the same thought Brent. Specifically going to go with Miliput for the tyres - water soluble and sand-able seem like they'll be useful attributes for that job.
Yeah, I have the Vickers. Probably my favourite in the scale (and closest to scale) but slightly squat and as usual feels like the details weren't quite understood By the modeller. Bigger issue is that the printed texture is variable. On the two I have one is far too rough and I'd have to re-rivet after sanding. The other is ok, but not perfect. Passable though.
I can drop you some closeup pics if that helps?
Very likely the best paint job those have ever seen. Has Crouchie seen them?
You must have a fair collection of these wee beasties?......or are they all commissions and sent away to happy new owners? What I'm angling for is a group pic of them all.....if possible!
Looks like World of Tanks on acid lol
A beautiful collection ;D
But Queeg - the Saracen for Project 46 ?
EC
:-* :-* :-*superb
Having said all of that I'd love to try more off the shelf stuff to get more consistency and repeatability but I'd need one of the fancy companies to "sponsor" me .... hence the el-cheapo alternatives.
cheers
Brent
These are beauts all of them. I like the way you really scrape the bottom of your supplues. Very progressive thinkng.
While MIGs powders are nice it is cheaper to get dry (not oil) pastel crayons from a well stocked art supply store. Tve best stores sell them by the crayon, or you can do what I did and get a box of 40 nuances which will last you a lifetime. I prefer crayons to powders as you dont have to worry about tipping them over. A few rubs with the crayons over fine sand paper gives you just the amount you need.
T90 progress ...... replacement wheels arrived and fitting has begun, only 30 more to grind off.
Crikey, looks like a lot of work!
Lol, not as bad as it looks. I've learnt that with the correct application of power tools I can reduce any plastic obstacle to resin dust in short order .... :)
Don't forget the dust mask dude! :o
Are those Spanish Civil War Panzer 1's?
:-*Glad you like them!
did you sand the corners off or did they come like that?
I have to say it's very odd seeing my work getting painted up by other people - I've only built for myself until recently!
Plus I'veonly seen the Tortoise unpainted until recently!
The Portee looks great, shaping up to be a very characterful model.
(I'm a bit surprised how well the 1/48 replacement tracks fit your Empress(?) T90, are they (the tanks) on the larger 28mm side? Cos now you've got me thinking about all those 1/56/28mm tanks that could do with better detailed tracks...)
The Portee looks great. You have worked wonders with it. How the hell did you scratchbuild those mudguards / wheel arches ...... I can't wait to see it finished, pictured alongside the rest of the vehicle park, and then get it in my hot, sticky little hands!
Cheers.
Richard
Thanks gentlemen, appreciate the comments on the T90 - tis a pet project I'm definitely enjoying, even if progress is a bit slow.
Finally finished the Perry AT-Portee to go with the rest of Richards Desert tanks so a couple more group pics to take then it's packing and shipping time.

Is that a Bofors AT gun?
The Portee looks gorgeous :-*
Simply stunning. Congratulations Brent.
I'm looking forward to adding the crews 8)
Amazing - I think the used look you have achieved is spot on - nice work!
Sweet! Are the antennas removable? No mate, I fix them in.
Great stuff, both look excellent (what did you use for the aerials?) - the replacement running gear/tracks on the T-90 look fantastic.
