OK, so this is all your fault. I’ve been sneaking over to the Old West board from my usual home on the Pulp board for some time now. I’ve so enjoyed your Old West towns that you’ve forced me into making one myself!

This shows the origins of Hog Thief Bend. The brothers Jeremiah and Obediah McGrog have been prospecting for gold in the hills above the Wette River valley. They have recently struck lucky and Jeremiah is dancing a jig for joy in his long-johns (he hasn’t noticed that Muffin the Mule doesn’t seem to like his dancing and is about to take executive action). Obediah seems so overcome by events that he appears to have stripped off and is dancing in the buff! Snappy, the terrier looks on in disgust. Hearing of this strike, the land agents have already moved in and are busy surveying the area for the township which will inevitably grow as news of the gold strike leaks out. Mountain man Pierre ‘LeGros’ Coqsure is concerned that this invasion of greenhorns will interfere with his trade in beaver.

The brothers were clean-shaven when they started prospecting at Hog Thief Bend!

Mason, I have to say that Upsheet Creek was the inspiration that made me start this project, so you will have to take some of the blame! ;) Seriously, your town is superb and I am going to have to steal emulate all some of your ideas!
I have painted some more inhabitants but my first proper town building is currently in the post to me. I am still debating how to construct my board/s for this as I want a town board and possibly a board featuring mine buildings. I will post a few photos of the figures I've painted so far shortly..............

L-R: Kapitan Aard B'Stard (late of Vesterbro, Copenhagen), now a Steamboat Captain on the Wette River, William Gull, Barber-Surgeon (Bill to his friends, late of Whitechapel, London) and Major Jubal 'One-Arm' Tardy (late for everything).
-
Its rite fitting that the first building is a public privie lol I cannot wait to see how this develops. I love the story aspect of your tread as it gives context to your build. With 9 buildings planed are you working on a small 3 or 4 foot table size or a larger one with lots of scenic elements?
-
Dancing nude or in long Johns can be no good. You´re not doing well my good ole Lord S. This is going to be very naughty - Hog Thief Bend will be a most disrespectful hive of scum and villainy when it´s being founded that way. I suppose it will be rather sooner than later that either the marshals are going to have a sharp eye on that or (even more probably) some (of my) scoundrel gunslingers will steal the mad brothers´ excavated and sieved treasures... :D
-
Who makes the figure with the apron? Great painting and scenery by the way.
-
Thank for your comments, guys.
are you working on a small 3 or 4 foot table size or a larger one with lots of scenic elements?
warlord frod, I think I may have 2 to 4 boards, maybe 2' by 4'. One will be a scratch built mine area (The McGrog Mine). One will definitely have main street buildings. I am not sure about the rest yet, I would like a river dock for a paddle-steamer though (dreaming again)!
This is going to be very naughty - Hog Thief Bend will be a most disrespectful hive of scum and villainy when it´s being founded that way.
You're darned tooting Michi! Wait until you see the soiled doves! Watch out for the mad McGrog brothers though, they can be a mite ornery when gunslingers are about (though where Obediah keeps his six-shooter is anyone's guess).
Who makes the figure with the apron? Great painting and scenery by the way.
Thanks 3 fingers. The figure with the apron is from a set of Jack the Ripper figures from Foundry but I can't see it on their site now. Maybe that set is OOP? I found this picture of the set on the Miniaturicum (http://www.miniaturicum.de/product_info.php?products_id=2555) website but not on Foundry.

Very true, my friend, very true. With that much gold about all sorts of scum will be attracted to Hog Thief Bend! It will need a Marshal of the highest calibre to keep the peace.

Thanks mad lord, the fella at the back with the sharp rifle? In 2/3rd pic I have him already though he is going into my sci-fi/wild west mining frontier planet scenario.
Artizan if I remember rightly.

Welcome to town Lord S.Case.
I really enjoy the narratives you provide with your updates, so I shall be watching all further proclamations closely.
IMHO pulp and OW go hand in hand. The frontier town doesn't need to be set America.. any colonial expansion can work as a setting. It will make a nice FlyInFlyOut setting for your pulp adventurers too. Better set aside a paddock for the planes ;) :D
Cheers
Matt

Thanks Argonor, he's quite a character, someone needs to make a miniature of him with those sideburns!
Well played Snappy! Well played indeed.
Many thanks, Mr.Peabody.
Artizan if I remember rightly.
3 fingers, yes, all the Pinkertons are Artizan. The strange thing is they come in two sets of three and I only have five so I must have mislaid one somewhere which is a bit annoying. Can't find him anywhere. It's the one below if anyone has one for sale I would be happy to pay a reasonable price and P&P.
I really enjoy the narratives you provide with your updates, so I shall be watching all further proclamations closely.
Thanks, Matt. I hadn't thought about the connection between Pulp and OW but you have given me a few ideas here. The mine I have planned will be perfect in a Pulp setting too (also for Scooby Doo, "if it wasn't for you pesky meddling kids!"). Also my planned OW buildings could become a ghost town in the '30's for Pulp. Thanks for the ideas.
-
Can't find him anywhere.
Right bunch of Detectives you have there... can't even find one of their own blokes!

Nice progress, sir.

I use my buildings regularly in my sci-fi games, but it has also been used for Strange Aeons 1930's Cthulhu gaming, so Pulp is no problem at all. I also intend to use the OW buildings for many other things, just make a detachable sign and it should be ok. I mean, a wooden building is a wooden building, eh?
;)

I will see if I have him......).

Splendid. Great to see a new town brought to life
-
Splendid. Great to see a new town brought to life
Thanks, Deedles. The first building planned is the saloon, as is only right and proper!
I was inspired by Guthrie, Oklahoma where it appears that it only took a month to get three newspapers going, a hotel and three general stores. However, 50 saloons were built in Guthrie's first week!
-
Nice looking pieces. How did you add the backdrop to your vignette? I'm not sure I'd trust shysters like Lamora and Tannen :) .
-
Nice looking pieces. How did you add the backdrop to your vignette? I'm not sure I'd trust shysters like Lamora and Tannen
Thanks, horridperson. The backdrop was simply printed on photo paper and then pinned to an A4 sheet of foam and stood behind the sand/pebble mixture which I just brushed up to the photo. It works surprisingly well for such a simple technique.
As to Lamora and Tannen, nothing untoward or sinister has happened...................................................yet! ;)

It looks like Hog Thief Bend might even be attracting some law-abiding (or are they?) citizens to set up a church and school in the town.

L-R: Isobel Pickwell (last known living with a German dentist in Argentina but it seems he died and left all his money to Isobel), the Reverend G. T. P. Mann (nothing is known of Reverend Mann yet, but it seems like he preaches, gun in hand!) and Sister Sara (searching for two mules).
I keep seeing in these photos that the eyes are way too big. I must try and correct that on my next figures!
-
Holy, preggers, sister! The sister looks preggers!
Perhaps the eyes should be so big - are they not all staring down the barrel of a gun? lol
Fun build - or is it a 'paint' since 'taint much a built, jest' yet.
-
Thanks, FifteensAway,
Holy, preggers, sister! The sister looks preggers!
I think rather that the proverbial 'bun in the oven', Sister Sara has probably OD'd on doughnuts! ;)
Fun build - or is it a 'paint' since 'taint much a built, jest' yet.
Only paint so far, but the saloon should be built soon (plenty of thirsty citizens) and maybe a small game can occur around the saloon.
-
Nice again,I like the contrasting coat on the preacher ,I'm going to cheat and do mine with a black one,lol
-
Nice again,I like the contrasting coat on the preacher ,I'm going to cheat and do mine with a black one,lol
Yes, I wanted to paint the preacher's coat black but I can't paint black, so I just lazily went for an alternative colour. I've got the Earps to paint but I keep leaving them, as to my mind, I want them all in black!
-
The saloon has still not arrived :'( so I've been painting figures. These are the inhabitants of Hog Thief Bend, so far. Some of them have been named, some not yet.
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Hog%20Thief%20Bend%20008_zpsgkxvxuqh.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Hog%20Thief%20Bend%20008_zpsgkxvxuqh.jpg.html)
-
That is a fine selection of characters you have already amassed, sir.
Most impressive.
:-*
-
Thanks, Mason. Although not quite as impressive as the population of Upsheet Creek! Still, it's a good start for me.
Upsheet Creek:
-
I am very disappointed to report that my first real building for Hog Thief Bend has still not arrived. My concern now is that maybe the Conestoga transporting the flat-packed saloon from Lyman Bridges of Chicago has been ambushed by Red Cloud’s Lakota warriors on the Bozeman Trail! It was reported recently that Dull Knife had stolen some horses from the McGrog mine and that Jeremiah and Obediah were hopping mad. I have sent two enquiries by the Pony Express but have heard nothing back.
In the meantime, I have started painting my outlaw gang which I think I will base on the Doolin-Dalton Gang. So many great names to use; “Tulsa Jack”, “Dynamite Dick”, “Bittercreek” and maybe “Little Britches” and “Cattle Annie” too.
First four are done:
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Hog%20Thief%20Bend%20009_zpsltk7o3tx.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Hog%20Thief%20Bend%20009_zpsltk7o3tx.jpg.html)
I may have to ride out later with a Big Iron on my hip to see if I can track down the missing saloon!
-
Good luck to you and your posse snapcase.
The bank looks grand, quite a well built establishment.
Cheers
Matt
-
Good luck to you and your posse snapcase.
I think the Pinkertons need to find their missing man (see Page 2) before they take on this lot!
The bank looks grand, quite a well built establishment.
Thanks, Matt. The citizens of Hog Thief Bend are keen to erect a more imposing building (and more secure) as soon as they can attract investors. The town needs a newspaper to sell itself to potential immigrants.
In other news, the wagon train with the saloon got through in the end. As I suspected it had been attacked by the Lakota. Luckily, soldiers from F Troop (stationed at the nearby Fort Courage) managed to save the wagons before too much damage was done (see below). The first floor of the saloon is already built and the official opening will appear here soon..............................
-
Charlie Malloy (aka the 'Dirtwater Fox'), the town's professional gambler, surveys progress so far in the fitting out of the new saloon........

-
That is some good use of dolls house furniture, sir.
The slightly smaller scale works well in these buildings and does not overwhelm them.
8)
Where is the piano from?
-
Thanks, Mason. yes, that doll's house cheap furniture is quite useful and looks OK here, as you say, not too big.
The piano which I particularly like is from 4Ground here:
4Ground Upright Piano (http://www.4ground.co.uk/28mm-furniture/28mm-furniture-upright-piano?limit=1000)
I may get some more of the 4Ground furniture to fit out my buildings although I probably need to win the lottery first, then I'll have enough money to buy the whole town at once! ;)
-
So, my first Old West building is complete. Citizens of Hog Thief Bend can now get a shot of Red Eye or Panther Piss in relative comfort in the Broken Drum Saloon (motto: “You sure caint beat it!”). I am really pleased with this 4Ground building, lots of detail and as I am a lazy bastard this a great way of getting some buildings done without too much work. I will be adding some posters and other little details later.
Just trying to decide what comes next……………………………

This afternoon, newly elected Mayor Quimby, or as he is better known to the populace, 'Diamond Joe', met Captain Wilton Parmenter, commander of F Troop, stationed at nearby Fort Courage. Presumably they were discussing the latest theft of horses in the area and what the army was going to do about it!

I don't have much in the way of buildings or scenery at the moment so the saloon is looking a little bit lonely! However, the next building is on the way. In the meantime, I thought I'd set up what I have and maybe have a quick game, more later...............................

That would be a great idea! All I need is someone to paint it on the wall for me!

Watch a few episodes of Bob Ross' Joy of Painting and acquire a few brushes and tubes of artist's acrylics (student value pricing) and you'll be good to go. You don't need to be Rembrandt, just get a sky up on that wall - and get a natural sponge to dab in your clouds, very effective method. I await your results. Whenever.

Excellent work! ;)

Thanks, Dave. I will be trying out your excellent Pulp Alley rules in the Old West, it should work well, I think.

FifteensAway, I do like your suggestion and I think I will have a go. It will have to wait a while as I don't want to move the table (or everything that's stored underneath) at the moment. I'm interested in trying the sponge method for the clouds, not heard of that before.
-
Dead easy to do and looks great. I made my 'sky' for WW1 dogfights the same way... bit of white hardboard, then dab powder blue on it till yer satisfied.

After a long while away due to RL issues, I had a Desmond at the site and sitting here applauding your efforts Lord Snapcase!!! Cracking painting and great background stories! When I first got into the hobby nine years ago, the old west was what sealed the deal. I also blame Mason lol!!!
Now I want a Technicolour batrep with yarn spinning worthy of the tallest tale teller... or should that be teller of tall tales ;).

Great! I am really looking forward to seeing your Pulp Alley scenarios in the Old West.
When we started designing Pulp Alley, we used my Old West miniatures because we didn't have enough pulp minis. So Pulp Alley always has a bit of a Wild West feel to me. ;)

My own town physician, Dr De'Ath, also hails from the Whitechapel area.
Maybe they were members of the same club?
And maybe they both used the same travel agent....?

-
Maybe they were members of the same club?
I'm not sure which club Bill belonged to but I have it on good authority that he liked to down a few stiffeners in the Ten Bells pub in Whitechapel. Perhaps he met Dr. De'Ath there, both being medical men?
And maybe they both used the same travel agent....?
There may be a previously unsuspected conspiracy here, Mason. Bill had to leave London in a hurry and it's rumoured that he had Royal connections, some saying that he had treated the Prince of Wales! It's possible that the two doctors were involved in some nasty business in Whitechapel together. Presumably with the law getting close to feeling their respective collars, they departed for pastures new. I imagine Bill Gull is still in touch with Dr. De'Ath in Upsheet Creek and more dastardly happenings may come to light in the near future?

Maybe they could have a 'shave-off' to see whose the bloodiest barber in the West? lol

I'm also looking using Pulp Alley for Old West game. Any feedback on your experience is welcome.

Treebeard, I will post a game report here soon. I think Pulp Alley rules will work extremely well in the Old West.

I agree - the Old West is a very 'pulpy' period to game, anyway. I need to get some more minis and some of my Sarissa buildings painted for the same purpose.

I want to get that Sarissa Minehead Wheelhouse, I like the look of that.

Very nice!
An Old West expansion for Pulp Alley has always been something we've wanted to do.
I'm looking forward to seeing your scenarios. ;)

That would be marvellous, Dave. I would love that! :-*
I'm looking forward to seeing your scenarios.
I'll post the scenario and plot points here shortly for 'Tall Tales from Hog Thief Bend: Episode 1 - The Missing Pinkerton'. The next scenario will follow on from the result of this one (if that makes sense!).

So I took a quick break from the Old West to paint a pirate for the Pikes, Muskets and Flouncy Shirts Painting Club . Now that Roly Deschain's gun store is complete the town is starting to look a little better. Although I don't have a mini for Deschain yet.

I thought it was very good value, £10.99 on Amazon (free p&p), 60cm by 200cm so quite big, I've only got half of it showing above table level as the foreground looks out of scale to the town, but still a lovely backdrop.

Cracking stuff your Lordship. Great to see the humble barber getting his moment in the spotlight. The barber of Hopkirk's Crossing (my own Old West town) is Leo Sawyer, a small flamboyant man who often 'feels like dancing' in one of the town saloons. It seems we've all based our barbers on sinister characters of the past. I haven't sculpted a curly perm on the figure though.

That's what we use. They make for a very entertaining game. I'd highly recommend them. I also picked up the special card deck, which although isn't required as a normal deck will do, it is very nice. Having the cards marked up with their bonuses is very useful for the players. For what it costs for a pdf ofFistful of Lead Reloaded you can't really go wrong.

Nice build and a neat backdrop. Thanks for the link. Went and bought one myself.

I started work on the town's Blacksmiths today. Just a bit of a WIP here, I've added some floorboards to the workshop and started a fire in the forge!

I bought the Foundry set of Blacksmiths for my town. As they come with knee britches, I've used greenstuff to make their trousers. I've nearly finished the forge, just got to paint the rest of the building!

Good point, Michi. I've got some coal I could've used as well! :'( Never mind, these guys are obviously novice Blacksmiths! Still, I've got the forge that comes with the set as well, I think that must be fired with coke or coal. :)

Not finished yet by a long way but some progress. At least old O. W. has got his sign up!

Thanks, Quendil. At the moment the town is on a 6' by 3' table in my painting room. Eventually, I think I may transfer it to some 4' by 2' boards so I can store it. I also want to build a mine area on one board. The cards were created on MS Publisher, happy to e-mail you one if you use Publisher?

Thats great to know. I don't use publisher and use a Mac. Haven't tried doing anything like that yet so just wondering what packages people use.

Still working on the Blacksmiths, just working out where the forge etc. is going. Sheriff's office should be coming next.

The first of my boo how doy. This is Fa Kin Su Pa, a hatchet-man from the I Po Ying Tong. The I Po Ying Tong are based in San Fransisco's Chinatown district. Fa Kin Su Pa and his fellow boo how doy have been sent on a mission by Wun Hung Lo, the Dragon Master of the I Po Ying Tong. They are looking to set up a laundry in a boomtown to act as a front for their nefarious activities. It looks like there may be the beginnings of a little Chinatown in Hog Thief Bend! This could mean big trouble! ;)

Missed this project up until now. Enjoying the various references... ;)
Surely Fa Kin Su Pa should also be known as 'The Red Bladder' in that outfit.
He will undoubtedly stop anyone trying to diddle the I Po Ying Tong. :D

Thanks, Overlord.

There is an official rank of "Red Pole" in the Tong, who was the Enforcer. However, I like your suggestion much better. Fa Kin Su Pa will henceforth have the nickname 'The Red Bladder'. lol

You are obviously cognisant of the secret code words of the Tong: Ying Tong, Ying Tong, Iddle Ipo. ;)

Definitely want a Chinese laundry; the folk in Weaverville might have laughed but "John John" got rich.
-
It took me a while to track down your reference, horridperson, I'd not heard this story before.
But what a great story it is.............
Life for the Chinese was not easy during the California Gold Rush. In cities and towns throughout the west, discrimination was apparent. Banned to the most menial jobs, Chinese immigrants often became launderers. Here's a story from Weaverville's past: "A tiny fellow with a scarred cheek and eager eyes, "John John," the Chinese laundry man, was the laughingstock of Weaverville, California. For months during [sic] he had been washing the Anglo miners' clothes and never had charged even a penny for his services.
The Anglos thought he was stupid, and intentionally took advantage of him. But a year later, according to prospector John Hoffman, who followed gold and silver trails through the Sierras for nearly three decades, one of the white miners came across John John wearing fine clothes in Sacramento. The Chinese laundry man had washed enough gold dust out of pants cuffs and shirttails to set himself up for life!"
-
The Blacksmith's is now in place but not quite finished. The town is looking a bit more populated now.

Wow! Looks great! :-*
-
Yeah, that looks fantastic. The buildings are every bit as colourful and characterful as your miniatures.
I dug up that Weaverville story googling any information I could find on Chinese immigrants in the Old West; I was really taken by Wu watching Deadwood. On that note I think those scumbags at Hearst's mining operation in season 2 were shaking down their miners and forcing them to take company showers at the end of shifts. If I ever build a stamp mine I won't hook them up with showers; Greedy rich people rip off labourers quite enough already :) .
-
You can never have too many Chinese! Now if they raise pigs ;)
LB
I only just got your reference to pigs. I watched the first episode of Deadwood (I bought the boxed set) last night. The Chinese Laundry will definitely have to have a pig pen out back!
Wow! Looks great!
Thanks, Dave.
Yeah, that looks fantastic.

There's a new Sheriff in town. Reuben J. Cogburn has agreed to take on the job in Hog Thief Bend. Known to his friends as 'Rooster', he is a veteran of the American Civil War and served under Confederate guerrilla leader William Quantrill, where he lost his eye. Cogburn previously lived in Fort Smith, Arkansas in the back of a Chinese dry-goods store, along with the proprietor, his friend and gambling buddy Chen Lee, and an orange tabby cat named after Confederate General Sterling Price. The rumour round town is that he has never had a 'dry day' in his life! Luckily for Rooster, the Sheriff's Office is right opposite the Broken Drum Saloon, so it's not too far when he gets a hankerin' for a shot of redeye. Let's hope he can bring some law and order into this den of iniquity.

Argonor, exactly why I went for 4Ground pre-painted. They arrive in the post and usually they are on the table finished within two days. I usually glue the main walls and roof and leave overnight, finishing the windows, doors etc. the next day. You also have fully detailed and playable interiors. The jail cell windows in the Sheriff's office can be pulled out during a game.

Great to see the town developing. I have the same two outlaws attached at the hip. I couldn't think how to use it. I decided to use them in Fistful of Lead where the figure activates as one and they both get to fire but they get penalised in hand to hand and get a movement penalty.

That is a sweet photo! The jail walls have been breached.

Yeah, the Sheriff's office is an excellent building. Good lookin' town so far!

The citizens of Hog Thief Bend get their water supply at last. Most of them are not too bothered about water as their liquid intake is limited to popskull! However, it might been that a new bath house will open in town.
A question for you Old West town historians, would the water being pumped into the tower be driven by a windmill?

Not sure how the old water tanks worked. Many were just used for filling or topping up trains which passed by - but not one like you've purchased. It never hurts to have a windmill (heck, I just have one to allow another sniper's perch!)
-
Greetings your lordship,
Your town is looking topnotch.
Regarding the stage coach - bought one myself - and must say when it is complete you will be very satisfied. However getting there was a bitch. I found the card stock seats were a pain in the ahem to fit - drove me nuts.
That is my only real complaint in the end I just snipped off the tabs and glued in place...
All the best,
Frank

Only done the chassis so far, might come to the interior later today, so I'll watch out, cheers. BTW, your blog is looking great, just reading it now.

pops,
drove me nuts
I see what you mean now, 10 minutes of swearing at it got it done though! >:D

..............at last. The stage coach comes to town. Mayor 'Diamond Joe' Quimby is wondering if horse rustlers have been at work again.

Looking good, sir.
:-*
Now you just need some drivers and passengers.
;)

Really only three ways within the Old West period to fill that water tank that I can think of: gravity feed, windmill, or a stationary steam plant to run a pump. Made me start to wonder about all those water tanks in movies and how they got fed. Going to have to do some research.
Okay, after some quick research - nix the windmill except for stock water tanks. Either gravity or a steam pump - and if the latter, inside an enclosed structure unless the very beginnings of the road or boom town.
By the way, if gravity fed, I don't think you need to add anything to the model because the piping likely would be underground - unless it was flume then you'd want to model that but it would have to be from an uphill source. But at a very, very slight angle from level. Your hilly background can easily suggest gravity feed - but also a very arid climate.
-
If monsoon season were a bit longer you could fill them solely with rainwater...but at a whoppin' three weeks a year, that won't do.
-
Nice lookin' ride your Lordship. I do hope you are not like me though - I finished the stagecoach three months ago and horses, driver and passengers are still languishing to have the painting finished. Some day I shall paint them completely....
-
Now you just need some drivers and passengers.
Thanks, Mason. I bought the set from Great Escape Games so you get driver and shotgun and two passengers plus four horses, just got to paint them but couldn't resist adding the coach to the town.

Sounds just like me, pops!

Thanks for that detailed response, Fifteens Away, some very useful info there. If the steam pump was enclosed perhaps I could just model a shack with a chimney?

Elbows, whilst making the water tank I kept thinking of Raquel Welch (well, who doesn't?) in 100 Rifles and those guys hiding in the near-empty tank.

I have zero problems with this...or Ursula Andress...or any of the gorgeous women of the period. lol

You have fine taste! Mentioning Ursula reminded me of a film..............
-
I ca-rumble at the sight of her! Or I sure did when I was younger. That as close to topless as I think she ever did. Which is fine by me, I like leaving something to the imagination. lol
And no need to put a chimney on your shack - that might be necessary up in the Dakotas but not in the desert your town appears to be based in.
-
OK thanks, I'll see what I can do.

So, I’ve bought the Deep Cut Badlands mat for gaming on. It’s a superb mat, once laid on the table it stays flat and doesn’t move, even when you lean on it. Ordered it yesterday from Wayland Games and it arrived at lunchtime today (with a free copy of the Bolt Action rule book)! Very quick service. I don’t think this mat is going to suit the town itself, probably more suited to an environment with similar coloured rocks, maybe an ambush type scenario or a train robbery out of town.. However, it’s good enough for the moment and the Steppe mat I wanted for the town was out of stock. Here are some photos of Hog Thief Bend set up on the mat.

WOW! Looks great! The Bend is getting mighty fine looking!
-
Thanks, pops. That was a quick response! :)
-
LOL - Been waiting for your post! I am trying to decide myself - Badlands like you have or Muddy Fields - Steppe appears on screen as very white and sandy - like a dirty beach - I like browns and greens more. I like the look of Badlands too - maybe a little too red for in town though - like you were saying.
-
You've been warned Mad Lord...once you start with these kind of mats you'll end up wanting them all. lol If I wasn't broke as a joke I'd have ordered about three more already.

You're right, thinking of ordering the Steppe mat soon! ;)

So, I'm about to play my first game in Hog Thief Bend tomorrow (AAR to follow), I still need plenty more buildings but I have enough to make a start now. Originally the first game was to be with Pulp Alley rules as advertised earlier in this thread, 'The Missing Pinkerton'. However, I was lucky enough to win a set of the 2nd Edition cards for Shoot N' Skedaddle from a raffle run by Elbows on this forum. So I think it only fair that I give Shoot N' Skedaddle a try out.
I spent today assembling the necessary equipment to play and reading the rules:

The set-up on the kitchen table ready for tomorrow's big show-down!

The following two photos will be printed on a sheet for the game to remind me which figure is which character in the game. Characters and weapons are drawn randomly from the game decks. These are the Lawmen and Outlaws for tomorrow:

-
Oof...that's going to be a good one. I'd put my money on the Outlaws simply because of the Drifter. I don't see any trees or cactus on your board so the Mountain Man's going to suffer! lol
-
Yes, I see what you mean, Mountain man is a muzzle loader and the Drifter does look a very good character. However, I have high hopes for the Soiled Dove in disguise!
-
Trust me, you can never tell the outcome by the draw - unless you were to draw a full group of Town Person or some such. With the special decks you'll find it never stays the same. I'm still smarting after my friend turned a wounded Hired Gun on my own guys and killed half of them...(grumble grumble).
-
unless you were to draw a full group of Town Person
I did get a second town person in the Lawmen posse but with the agreement of the other player (I'm playing solo so that was me as well! ;) ) I drew a different card as the Lawmen looked a bit unbalanced (I think that was mentioned in your rules), that's how I got Mountain Man. Looking forward to the mayhem now!
-
Yep, it's entirely up to the players. I've never been a fan of carefully matched games (points etc.) but I fully understand that you could draw a horribly unbalanced group. When I play I frequently look at the sides and let someone draw an additional character etc. I'm a bit more careful with it at conventions (I don't want a convention player to draw two Town Persons as their only characters etc.).
I'll be around so if you have any questions, lemme know!
-
It looks great Snappy! Have fun - I do like the mat adds a lot to the overall experience. Gotta get me one! Tell us how the rules play as well - some of us are anxiously awaiting delivery.
A little bit more painting and I will have my first go with the boys helping Wild Willie get his personal belongings back from the Muleskinners.

Shoot-Out at the Broken Drum Saloon - Part 1
The first shots rang out in Hog Thief Bend this morning just after 10 a.m. The last fatal shot echoed across Main Street at around 12.35 p.m. The frightened citizens of the Bend are only now coming out of hiding after being witness to one of the most violent shoot-outs in the history of the town. Gun smoke is still drifting across Main Street as the victors of this blood-bath adjourn to the Broken Drum Saloon to guzzle down some Panther-Piss and to lick their wounds. The losers won’t be going anywhere except in a wooden box.
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/001_zpsozfswhhk.png) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/001_zpsozfswhhk.png.html)
This was my first game of Shoot N’ Skedaddle and it was awesome! Lead flying everywhere from the word go. A lot of tension (due to the Activation Deck and the Special Cards) even though I was playing solo. I used the first scenario from the rule book which I paraphrase here to suit the characters of Hog Thief Bend.
Outlaws
Bill Dalton – ‘Bad Man’
‘Red Buck’ Waightman – Bushwhacker
Chu Wing Phat – Bodyguard
‘Dynamite Dick’ Clifton – ‘Crazy’
Jubal ‘One-Arm’ Tardy – Soldier
‘Tulsa Jack’ Blake – The Drifter
Lawmen
J. W. Pepper – Deputy
‘Rooster’ Cogburn – U.S. Marshal
James McParland – Hired Gun
‘Big Nose’ Kate – Soiled Dove
Joshua York – Town Person
Pierre ‘LeGros’ Coqsure – Mountain Man
Bill Doolin and his Owlhoot Trail brothers have been in Hog Thief Bend for several days keeping their heads down, mainly in the Broken Drum Saloon trying to drink it dry. At around 9 a.m. this morning a telegram came through for U.S. Marshal ‘Rooster’ Cogburn. A federal marshal had been shot dead in Drake’s Branch, New Mexico a few days ago. It just so happened that this marshal had been trailing Bill Dalton and his gang from Arizona into New Mexico. Bill Dalton had been recognised in Drake’s Branch minutes after the marshal had been shot down from ambush. ‘Rooster’ called his deputy and hastily assembled a makeshift posse from nearby townsfolk and headed on up Main Street to confront the gang at the Broken Drum.
From the scenario rules, three characters from each side start 18” apart on Main Street facing each other. The other characters were distributed amongst the buildings by random dice throw. The six characters on Main Street enter a shootout (special rules in S N’ S 2nd. Edition). This meant that under the scenario rules the concealed characters would not be activated until all three characters on one side were lying dead in the street. Victory conditions were to kill all members of the other side. A very good introduction to my first game.
Just before the action started the stage had rolled into Hog Thief Bend for a change of horses. The 9th Earl of Snapcase was on the stage heading for Beau Gus Junction. Whilst waiting for fresh horses milord had ordered a large liquid libation for breakfast which his aged, wrinkled family retainer ‘Old’ Scrotum was bringing forth on a silver salver. The Earl’s favourite bulldog, Chulmleigh was at his side.
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/002_zpspobrsyxo.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/002_zpspobrsyxo.jpg.html)
The outlaws activate first and Bill Dalton, Chu Wing Phat and ‘Dynamite Dick’ Clifton open fire but the range is considerable and the hail of lead goes wild.
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/003_zpsrndwpsuy.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/003_zpsrndwpsuy.jpg.html)
‘Rooster’ Cogburn, Pierre ‘LeGros’ Coqsure and Joshua York return fire but their aim is equally wild and no one is hit. Both sides advance down Main Street towards each other to get into better shooting range. They confront each other outside the Broken Drum. “Surrender, Dalton!” yells ‘Rooster’ but the only reply is more gunfire.
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/004_zpsohonq4sy.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/004_zpsohonq4sy.jpg.html)
‘Rooster’ is hit twice and drops to the ground spouting blood like a geyser. Joshua York is hit in the shoulder but continues to return fire (they must shoot at the Bodyguard (Chu Wing Phat)) first owing to his special character rules. ‘LeGros’ is also firing but the lawmen fail to register any hits on the outlaws.
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/005_zpsqzlhydim.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/005_zpsqzlhydim.jpg.html)
‘LeGros’ is still reloading his muzzle-loader when he is wounded. Mountain Man is not a good choice for a shootout as he has to take an action to reload. We live and learn, or not in his case as more fire from the outlaws hits him again and he goes down like the proverbial sack of excrement. With Joshua being hit again, things start to look very bad for the lawmen as half their posse lies dead or dying in the dust of Main Street.
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/006_zpstqds8bfx.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/006_zpstqds8bfx.jpg.html)
With the three lawmen dead in the street, the other characters are now free to activate under the scenario rules. ‘Big Nose’ Kate has been watching the slaughter from the Sherriff’s Office and with an anguished wail (she’s secretly in love with old ‘Rooster’) runs out onto the street, pulls her concealed Derringer from between her heaving bosoms and tries to shoot Bill Dalton in the back of the head but only succeeds in blowing his hat off!
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/007_zpsilvimoqu.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/007_zpsilvimoqu.jpg.html)
Jubal ‘One-Arm’ Tardy now emerges from Roly Deschain’s gun store where he has been hiding during the main gunfight. Tardy by name, tardy by nature! He takes a shot at Kate with his carbine but his aim is way off and the stray bullet would have parted watching Bill Gull’s hair if he still had any on top of his head.
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/008_zps83igkbsx.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/008_zps83igkbsx.jpg.html)
‘Red Buck’ Waightman knocks out a window in the bunkhouse overlooking Main Street and James McParland does the same across the way, in the upper storey of the Sherriff’s Office.
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/009_zpsz48nwbsy.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/009_zpsz48nwbsy.jpg.html)
Unfortunately for Kate, she is the only visible presence of law and order in Hog Thief Bend, the other two male members of the posse are currently ensconced indoors! ‘Tulsa Jack’ Blake exits Roly Deschain’s gun store by the back door and seeing ‘Big Nose’ Kate pointing a Derringer at Bill Dalton takes a shot at her with his ‘Mare’s Leg’ and gives her a nasty leg wound. At the same time ‘Dynamite Dick’ moves round to threaten Kate with his sawn-off shotgun. The sawn-off adds +1 Marksman and the close range adds another +1. This cannot be good for Kate, already wounded she faces a close range blast of buck shot from an enraged ‘Dynamite Dick’. Dick lets rip and the air is filled with pellets (5 x d20 gets 5 hits but no damage!). When the gun smoke clears Kate’s bouffant hair-do has been blown to bits as Dick in his fury aimed too high. Kate is hurt but still fighting on!
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/010_zps7uiwllpf.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/010_zps7uiwllpf.jpg.html)
The outlaws turn up a special card and ‘One-Arm’ swigs from his bottle of ‘Rotgut’ and gets extra ‘Guts’!

This is great stuff Snappy! You should be writing western novels. Great photos!

Thanks, pops. Just doing the next bit now.

Violent...lovely. :-*

Violent...lovely. :-*
It certainly was non-stop action! Even more blood spilt on Main Street in Part 2.
-
As an aside - what sized mat did you wind up going with 6 x4? The mat looks great with the terrain and figs!
-
Cracking stuff, MLP. Loving the action. Strange how our interests coincide quite often. First a Pulp Alley fest (or was it Starnge Aeons?) and now Western.
Something spurred me a couple of weeks ago to dig out my dreadful old 54mm (home made) western buildings and I've been busy tarting them up ever since. And then I browse here and find that MLP himself is also into western - spooky.
I'm intending to use good old Rules Without A Name in lieu of anything else (although I own at least 8 sets of western rules). However, I don't have the ones you're using so I'm interested to see how you get on with them.
I wonder if anyone else is still using TRWAN?
Doug
ps 54mm Western - truly the only way :D
-
Doug,
A pleasure to chat with you virtually, how are you?
ps 54mm Western - truly the only way
I would love to do 54mm Old West, I quite agree. The only thing stopping me is making all those buildings. You can see that I've been very lazy with my Old West town, using pretty much all pre-painted 4Ground stuff. Will we get to see some photos of what you are doing?
I must say, only one game so far with Shoot N' Skedaddle but I'm loving it!

pops, that's the 6' by 4' mat, fits my table just about right.

Shoot Out at the Broken Drum Saloon – Part 2
So, while Jubal Tardy gets liquored up, Deputy J. W. Pepper enters into the action. Hearing the sound of breaking glass upstairs (‘Red Buck’ Waightman in the bunkhouse) J. W. decides to investigate. He daren’t run out the saloon bat wing doors with three outlaws directly outside so he elects to exit via the back door and make his way round to the external steps. J. W. is running as fast as he can, particularly with the overwhelming smell of the outhouse. ‘Smoky’ Pete appears to be investigating the source of the smell but I wouldn’t go anywhere near there with a naked flame, Pete!
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/011_zpsfbso5l87.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/011_zpsfbso5l87.jpg.html)
Meanwhile, Kate fires her Derringer again at Bill Dalton, this time putting a hole in his duster. Kate makes a mental note to improve her shooting skills but it may be too late? ‘Tulsa Jack’ (who has just emerged from the back door of the gun store, sees J. W. run round the corner of the saloon and gives chase.
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/012_zpse9fenj63.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/012_zpse9fenj63.jpg.html)
From his vantage point, upstairs in the Sherriff’s Office, James McParland fires his sawn-off at Chu Wing Phat and wounds the Celestial Bodyguard.
‘Dynamite Dick’ having failed to kill Kate at point blank range with his sawn-off now feels that the more immediate threat is coming from the sawn-off wielded by McParland in the upstairs window rather that the pissant Derringer which Kate is using to try and hit Bill Dalton. Probably the safest place to stand is right in front of where she is pointing it! Dick hits the window with a shotgun blast and sprays McParland with glass but fails to wound him.
Before the shooting started, ‘Dynamite Dick’ had hidden his stash of dynamite in an old crate at the back of the Sherriff’s Office. A stray bullet (activated by a card from the outlaw’s special deck) ignites the dynamite blowing off the back wall of the office.
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/013_zpsdgtco0il.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/013_zpsdgtco0il.jpg.html)
McParland is once again showered with broken glass as the back windows blow in, however once again he escapes serious injury. ‘Tulsa Jack’ gets an extra activation in this turn as he has a joker in the activation deck as well as his normal two cards. This gives him the chance to gain ground on poor old Deputy J. W. Pepper who has just mounted the bottom steps leading to the bunkhouse. Jack is within 3” of J. W. but no bonus for close range as J. W. is partially in cover. However, this doesn’t cause ‘Tulsa Jack’ a problem as he aims his trusty ‘Mare’s Leg’ and hits the deputy twice, killing him outright. Lord Snapcase is rather miffed to say the least, to see the deputy shot down in cold blood in front of him. His Sharps Big 50 is packed in the luggage compartment of the stage or he might have had a pop at the dastardly villain! More doom and gloom for the forces of law and order who are down to one man and one woman. The outlaws still have six men shooting!
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/014_zpsty08aaun.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/014_zpsty08aaun.jpg.html)
Bill Dalton also elects to ignore ‘Big Nose’ Kate, concurring with ‘Dynamite Dick’ that the major threat lies in the Sherriff’s window in the form of hired gun, James McParland and his sawn-off shotgun. Bill fires up at the window and manages to wound McParland. Jubal Tardy advances up Main Street and takes another shot at Kate with his carbine. Surely he won’t miss this time (do ursine creatures defecate in arboreal environments)? His bullet passes through the hem of Kate’s skirt without touching her!
‘Red Buck’ fires at the window across the street trying to hit McParland but McParland is in cover and the shot merely passes through the smoke-filled office.
Bill Dalton now decides he’s had enough of McParland and ascends the steps to confront him. The lawmen get a lucky break from a special card and get an extra activation. McParland shoots through a second window as he sees Dalton reach the top of the steps (I gave him a -1 marksman as the window still had glass in it). Dalton receives a wound from McParland’s shotgun before he can enter the office.

Chu Wing Phat decides to end the threat of Kate once and for all and charges her to engage in hand to hand combat. Thinking his martial arts skills will see the end of this pesky Calico Queen, he forgets the Derringer at his peril. As he tries to lock her in a deadly embrace, Kate fires the Derringer and for once her luck is in. Chu Wing Phat, already wounded, takes a small calibre bullet right through his black heart and dies on the spot.
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/016_zpsnddiankh.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/016_zpsnddiankh.jpg.html)
Jubal Tardy now strides towards Kate with murder in his heart and at close range discharges his carbine. Time for those of you with a nervous disposition to look away. Kate sinks to the ground with a final scream, as dead as a doornail. The feisty Soiled Dove is no more.
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/017_zpsztu3qyhk.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/017_zpsztu3qyhk.jpg.html)
At this point the outlaws draw another special card, the errant shot.
(http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q645/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/018_zpst3snuu02.jpg) (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Mad_Lord_Snapcase/media/Hog%20Thief%20Bend/Shoot%20Out%20at%20the%20Broken%20Drum/018_zpst3snuu02.jpg.html)
A ricochet from who-knows-where flies though the Sherriff’s Office window. The dice are thrown and the already wounded McParland is killed in a final twist of fate. The end of the Lawmen and the end of the game. The five remaining members of Bill Dalton’s gang head towards the Broken Drum Saloon as the sun starts to sink in the sky.

I will write some observations as a third post tomorrow, but I can assure you all that Shoot N’ Skedaddle is a bloody awesome game and I loved every minute of it. You will see more of this! Thanks, Elbows!

Well, I did say I thought the Outlaws might take it! Yeah, hit me up with any questions. The only things I observed is that the way you wrote it out made it seem like the shootout in the street was going back and forth, each side taking turns. In a shootout everyone is shooting simultaneously (even though it may have just been how you wrote it here!).
Kate was brave. lol I find Soiled Doves to be particularly effective if they stay in disguise and attempt to Shock enemies with their special trait...bosoms being ever so distracting and what not.
Nice way to finish the game too, a stray bullet...the poor sod. As you probably figured out this scenario is supposed to be short and deadly...basically to get players into the swing of how the basic "5+" dice mechanic works. Thanks for the pictures and the report, sounded like a good time!

Milord, where did you get that,er, scrotum from? Spiffy looking action as ever.

Didn't Big Nose Kate have rather a dangerous boyfriend you didn't want to cross?

Indeed she did and possibly married him, a certain individual born John Henry Holliday, sometime dentist but mainly gambler and gunfighter!

So, two greenhorns from back east rode into Hog Thief Bend a few weeks ago with enough money to buy a prime lot on Main Street. Turns out they are journalists come west to start their own newspaper, The Hog Thief Bend Reporter. The greenhorn newspapermen are called Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward.

Yep, it's a good one. I changed the colours on mine and turned it into my Town Hall.

That's a mighty fine publishin' establishment you got there Snappy! Now, where'd Bernstein and Woodward get all that loot to start so big! Hmmmm.....

Thank, pops.

That's another story, maybe to be revealed in the fullness of time?

Not a great photo. I have found with the 4Ground stuff that they're very easy to change colours since they ship on those painted sprues. I simply painted a couple of the sprues with Army Painter red.

I'm not a big fan of green, and I changed the Rogans bar as well. You simply get a good primer-thick kind of spray, like the Army Painter stuff and spray the sprues prior to popping the pieces out. Makes it awfully easy to change up some of the repetitious buildings. I have another somewhere that I painted green. Add to that the front signage can be swapped between a lot of buildings and you can make a whole bunch of alternate structures/facades.

He's Doc Cochran from the excellent Deadwood TV show. More a Doc than a reporter but it can work

Yep, the doc.

Just back from cruisin' the Med and need help settling back down to grey, wet Blighty. Updates on HTB are a big help in clearing the blues away. Love the newspaper office, M'Lord - well done.

Thanks, Doug. Cruising the Med sounds nice, we've just spent a week 'glamping' near Market Bosworth, now in Yorkshire, back home to Devon at the end of this week. So, no painting for two weeks!
If you'd like a game in HTB, maybe we can arrange something at my place in the new year, if you fancy it?

That sounds like fun - thanks for the invite. I'll remind you later in the year.
Cheers

OK, don't forget to remind me (mind like a sieve now I've retired!). We can play the Old West using Pulp Alley and Shoot 'N Skedaddle rules. Two very different games but both great fun. Plenty of other games on offer (X-Wing Miniatures, Imperial Assault, Pulp etc.).
I'm also working on a Napoleonic skirmish but no figures painted for that yet. Probably take a long time before that's ready.

Thanks, Bugsda. Kate is indeed rather forward! They don't go much for bustles in The Broken Drum Saloon! ;)
