Thanks, Mason. Although not quite as impressive as the population of Upsheet Creek! Still, it's a good start for me.

I am very disappointed to report that my first real building for Hog Thief Bend has still not arrived. My concern now is that maybe the Conestoga transporting the flat-packed saloon from Lyman Bridges of Chicago has been ambushed by Red Cloud’s Lakota warriors on the Bozeman Trail! It was reported recently that Dull Knife had stolen some horses from the McGrog mine and that Jeremiah and Obediah were hopping mad. I have sent two enquiries by the Pony Express but have heard nothing back.

In the meantime, I have started painting my outlaw gang which I think I will base on the Doolin-Dalton Gang. So many great names to use; “Tulsa Jack”, “Dynamite Dick”, “Bittercreek” and maybe “Little Britches” and “Cattle Annie” too.

First four are done:

I may have to ride out later with a Big Iron on my hip to see if I can track down the missing saloon!

Good luck to you and your posse snapcase.

The bank looks grand, quite a well built establishment.

Cheers
Matt

I think the Pinkertons need to find their missing man (see Page 2) before they take on this lot!

Thanks, Matt. The citizens of Hog Thief Bend are keen to erect a more imposing building (and more secure) as soon as they can attract investors. The town needs a newspaper to sell itself to potential immigrants.

In other news, the wagon train with the saloon got through in the end. As I suspected it had been attacked by the Lakota. Luckily, soldiers from F Troop (stationed at the nearby Fort Courage) managed to save the wagons before too much damage was done (see below). The first floor of the saloon is already built and the official opening will appear here soon..............................

Charlie Malloy (aka the 'Dirtwater Fox'), the town's professional gambler, surveys progress so far in the fitting out of the new saloon........

That is some good use of dolls house furniture, sir.
The slightly smaller scale works well in these buildings and does not overwhelm them.

Where is the piano from?

Thanks, Mason. yes, that doll's house cheap furniture is quite useful and looks OK here, as you say, not too big.

The piano which I particularly like is from 4Ground here:

4Ground Upright Piano

I may get some more of the 4Ground furniture to fit out my buildings although I probably need to win the lottery first, then I'll have enough money to buy the whole town at once!  ;)

So, my first Old West building is complete. Citizens of Hog Thief Bend can now get a shot of Red Eye or Panther Piss in relative comfort in the Broken Drum Saloon (motto: “You sure caint beat it!”). I am really pleased with this 4Ground building, lots of detail and as I am a lazy bastard this a great way of getting some buildings done without too much work. I will be adding some posters and other little details later.

Just trying to decide what comes next……………………………

Thanks Ramirez, the bank was a building I made some time ago for my Pulp Alley games, glad you like it. It might fit in quite well for the Old West.

This afternoon, newly elected Mayor Quimby, or as he is better known to the populace, 'Diamond Joe', met Captain Wilton Parmenter, commander of F Troop, stationed at nearby Fort Courage. Presumably they were discussing the latest theft of horses in the area and what the army was going to do about it!

I don't have much in the way of buildings or scenery at the moment so the saloon is looking a little bit lonely! However, the next building is on the way. In the meantime, I thought I'd set up what I have and maybe have a quick game, more later...............................

(looking at this photo, I think I ought to paint that wallpaper sky blue, it might look better)
