How many 4Ground buildings would I need?
« on: 09 June 2021, 10:43:44 PM »
How many 4Ground buildings would I need for a good table for the likes of Dracula's America, Legends of the Old West, Dead Man's Hand, etc? Nothing bigger than a 4x4 board. I forget, is DA played 3x3?

Half a dozen will do it if there's plenty of fences and cover scattered about in between 'em. One great idea from FFofL says if you enter a building you take a point blank scatter gun blast from it's owner!
This kind of discourages the sort of wargamer who scuttles for cover to become a lowdown back-shooter.
Safer to stay on the street and take yer medicine like a man!

DMH can be played on a 2’ x 2’ board, although we always find it a bit more cinematic with a 3’ x 3’ one. For number of buildings, as Harry says, 6 plus plenty of fences and some scatter to add cove and that Old West flavour.

Here’s a 3’ x 3’ DMH set up we played a few years ago (it was also used for a 7TV game, too)

Alternatively, let the scenery provide cover, as in this slightly adapted DMH game for 4 players.

Thanks for the input guys, I think I'd like to be able to make up to a 4'x4' board, just to have that option.
