We've got the Victorian mdf building kits from 4Ground in stock now.

There is the Police Station, the Warehouse and the terraced houses.

Nice buildings but wow on cost.

Sarissa may not be quite as good but a lot cheaper

Was very tempted by these at Salute.
Also very tempted by Sarissa (although some of their windows look more like Hobbiton than Surbiton). Cheaper but not pre-painted.

In the end didn't get any.

They certainly aren't cheap.

Main difference between these and Sarissa (I have buildings from both companies), aside from paint, is the 4ground ones have fully detailed interiors with understairs cupboards, doors, stairs, interior walls etc. this essentially doubles the amount of material used and therefore also the amount of time under the laser (which is the real manufacturing cost in these). As a side advantage, because the 4ground ones have double sided walls to get detail on the inside, they're also sturdier.

Which one is better will come down to personal preference but speaking for myself I don't like half the Sarissa ones, the others I'll consider but I've bought 4ground ones more recently than Sarissa ones, which I suppose speaks for itself.

Probably because it would only knock £5 off the cost of the smaller buildings and perhaps £10 from the big ones. The paint is applied to the wood before it goes under the laser so it's just a flat layer. As far as I'm aware the shading etc is achieved by clever positioning of the exhaust flow from the laser and it's heat.

I have yet to take the plunge and buy any of the many laser cut buildings I've seen around. I must confess that these are probably the nicest; which is why I would not mind the pricing. Of course the shipping is another story.   (believe it or not, but this Captain is land locked in San Antonio, Texas about 11.112 km from The Alamo)

But I do have a question for those of you who do use laser cuts, perhaps I should start my own thread.
When you buy these do you glue them together as a finished building or do you keep them as flats for storage sake?

I do have a painted 4ground WW2 28mm building and it is nice and went together well. Also reasonably priced.

I agree the two differences between Sarissa and 4 Ground are price and detail.  Sarissa do not do interior detail.  Guess it depends on your usage. I will not really be making much use of the insides of mine so Sarissa is more cost effective.

If you were going to play the whole game INSIDE one or more of these buildings then 4Ground would be good.  Still too expensive for me though and I am renowned for wasting money on toys

They do look great but invariably I'd need a table full of them and at that price, no matter how  good they are, it's just not going to happen.
