Usually big discounts on Warlord Games products once they are out in the wild. You will probably still get a good deal.

I found a store that is offering the core Hannibal Battle Set (288 Euros) for 259,20 Euros.

I think even in my prime painting days, I would be hard pressed to paint all those minis. I'm looking more at the Scipio and Hannibal army sets, if I pull the trigger.

Big question I have is decals for the shields.

Both from Warlord and other manufacturers.

I usually use LBMS transfers for shields, including all my punic war minis. I think for these it might be hard since many are overlapped and such. It looks like they come with simple decals.

I still plan to get these, but I am very torn. If I am completely honest I don't really care for the way they have done the Roman infantry in blocks.

The German site Brückenkopf-online has an excellent photo documentation of the sprues:

Now I am tempted again. That looks really nice and could be used for several DBx armies, too.

I often regret that even now it’s difficult to get hold of WI here in Germany. A sprue to tinker with would be very welcome!

Battlefield Berlin have it in stock. Could even choose the sprue included when I ordered a copy just the other day.

That said, it's still a great shame that WI is readily available in the US but not right across the Channel.

Ah, of course, the Battlefield, I have fond memories of that place when I was still living in Berlin. I’ll see if they still have it and will make an order!

I agree the Romans dont look right at all ... but then again they are really only Speed Bumps for my Mighty Carthaginians any way .. lol lol
On a more Positive note the Rulebook looks Awesome and is a must have ..  :-* :-*:o :o :o, and Hopefully this will reignite the Period for Veteran players and  kick start a whole lot of new players into the Punic Wars .. which is always a  good  thing .
Cheers

Picked up my July copy of Wargames Illustrated yesterday from Sainsbury’s (UK store) which had a Roman sprue on the front. It has nice crisp miniatures with good detail. The system for ranking 3 strips per base while minimising painting is very well thought out and a nice touch.

Ultracomixx in Nürnberg also stocks WI.

If I am completely honest I don't really care foe the way they have done the Roman infantry in blocks.

I agree - they are packed closer than a Macedonian phalanx! Not the way I envisage Republican Romans (or most of their foes) at all.
That said though the whole lot will look pretty cool on the table.
