I use the original card decks (12 Resist, 12 Assault, 14 Ready, 14 Fire and 20 Run) although replaced with much smaller coloured chits as I think the cards themselves are too large and ugly on the table. 1 full deck per army.
There was a good discussion on the sadly defunct Kraken forum about changing the ratio of order types or individually customising decks to suit different armies and commanders, akin to the wonderful system in the Piquet rules.

With more units than orders you end up having to give some units orders that are not strictly applicable which works as a delay or confusion event. (All units must have an order)

I appreciate the information, when I first  printed decks I printed and laminated enough copies so every unit has every order at its disposal (very large stacks of cards!).  I suppose this eliminated the the command and control limitations. It was still challenging because the abilities of your unit's order card  might not be ideal as the action unfolds. I will have to try using only the deck's contents as-is.

I'm a bit more than halfway complete the Scottish government (Williamite) army, so I figures I should post a blog update. Here are some pictures of the progress:

Those are fantastic! I do enjoy Baccus, even if their horses are a bit … small (even for 6mm!)
