I agree -- these figs all look like they could work with your scale. I mean, who's to say if some strange alien is out of scale?  :D Same with monsters...it's just a slightly bigger monster!

Great looking stuff -- and the eyes on the alien look awesome!

The wasteland warrior should be in the Gaslands range by Northstar. The figures in that range were sculpted by Mark Copplestone.

thank you, calling it a Copplestone wasteland warrior threw me.

What a fantastic thread!!
Just been right through it, some really great stuff to look at.
I've got loads of Dark future figures and vehicles plus the Copplestone wasteland stuff (ignore dozygiraffe he can't find his own backside with both hands)

I am inspired, I will dig out my stuff and think about the possibilities!

Thanks! I’m glad it’s inspirational. That’s one of the main reasons I post to this form and my blog… maybe someone else out there in internet land also loves the old Dark Future line and they’ll come across this little oasis. It is my favorite of the minis projects I’ve worked on. I’ve got some more units to add to the gangs and it looks like another line of 1/72 post apoc/dystopia/cyberpunk models are coming from Maceface and Northstar. Looking forward to those.

I’d love to see you kickoff a thread with your project at this scale. Seeing what others do in this setting at this scale is awesome.

If you can believe it, I finally, _finally_, played a game of Xenos Rampant with this collection.
And it was fantastic!!

Both my opponent and I loved it. We’ve got experience with the system through Dragon Rampant, so that helped. Any fears of how the Rampant system would incorporate modern/future massed ranged attacks were unfounded in our games. We thought the system was modified well. We didn’t incorporate any vehicles in these first few games, but we’ll roll those onto the table next time. We did have a side with Psychic Powers and they didn’t seem overpowered… that same side lost both games!

Anyway, we did a mixed Earth Defense Force vs Invaders and their human toadies.

Magnificent! The figures and setting all work great together - very inspiring!

I’m glad to hear that Xenos Rampant works well. I have it, but haven’t played it yet- the fellow I was most likely to play with tried it and immediately wrote it off after one game (he can he like that). I’m not sure exactly what his issues with it were.

The only thing I didn’t like during my read-through was the shift to 10/5 damage point units rather than the original 12/6 points*. In Dragon Rampant I like how 12 divides evenly by 2, 3,4, 6 which gives a fairly wide set of options for reduced model units (and a 6 point unit still can be divided by 2 and 3. 10 only gives you 2 and 5, and a 5 point unit doesn’t divide evenly, which I find limiting.

I would probably house rule to give units 12/6 damage in Xenos, but I haven’t worked out whether that would mess up other parts of the game play…

* No idea if it’s true, but someone told me the decision to shift to 10/5 was so that units would fit more easily with GW’s 40K unit sizes. If so, I think it was a daft choice - yeah, mirroring GW units might appeal to some players, but I think most folks could figure out a way to apply 12 points to a 10 model unit (2 team leaders have 2 damage points each, others have 1 - done!)

The game looks amazing! Glad you finally got a chance to play with those excellent figs you've been painting up. I agree, XR! works great. I played in a modern game using them and was surprised by how survivable the normal, 5-man units were.
