Well, kroot IS a word in Dutch, meaning red beets, though I've never heard it used in that context. But locally we use it as a synonim for pinecones, but that is Dutch Brabants dialect, and as far as I know only in my area ( Asten - Deurne - East of the Peel area anyway). Some squirrel fluffed cones do resemble a Kroots "hairstyle", funny enough.

Hmm, now I wan't to make a few Kroot with Dutch and Brabant flags somewhere. And I'm not even into 28mm!!  >:(

Now there is an idea I can get into as fellow Brabander. I am into 28mm but I have no clue as to what I would actually use them for tough. I have never heard the word used in either context around here. (Schijndel) So I think its a local thing.

Cheaper and easier to buy the bits you need on ebay from a bits distributor.

....As for the kroot bodies, I put dark elf spear arms on the remaining kroot bodies to make fantasy Krorks, but not playing fantasy at the moment, haven't painted them up yet....

Here's some pics of my Krork built as mentioned above.

That Krork works very well. Great conversion!

The Kroot just have to be the best thing GW have produced. So many potential uses :)

Spiky armor to match the spiky body.

Well done!

By the by, spear toters are well and truly a VSF staple, so no need to invoke 'fantasy'.

So would Skink arms work combined with Kroot bodies or would Saurus ones be better?
Inspiration is taking hold...
