Really like how your red turned out.
For me, red is hard to paint and make it turn out how I want it to.

Great stuff man. They looked even better in real life. The red is so bright, it looks terrific. They really stood out during play 8)

Thanks. The pictures somehow came out a bit muted, in real life they're a bit brighter...I think it's because my lighting isn't quite optimal at the moment.

Thanks. I don't think red is that difficult to paint, just use thin layers of paint as usual. What I did, was use a dark shade of red as a base color and used a darker red to shade the recesses. Then highlight with a brighter red and an orange that's close to the brightest red used. After the highlights I used a red wash on the model and repeated the highlight step and wash twice. The colors that I used were GW Ruby Red (base color), GW Crimson Gore (shading), GW Blood Red (highlight 1), GW Blazing Orange (highlight 2) and GW Baal Red wash. Some of these colors are OOP, but the equivalents should be available through Vallejo.

Indeed, really good looking lurkers. I was surprised to see how bright red they were in real life, after seeing your first photo of the tommygun lurker. Really good looking miniatures, like they bathed in blood after a dark ritual... >:D

And I really like the base of the mad scientist! Including the drain. Great stuff! :)

Thanks, I got the idea to do a drain after seeing these great looking bases by Wyrd miniatures:
