I cut the canopy cover back so more 'glass' shows, and I magnetized all of the hard points including the new ones from White Line Fever.  In addition I set to hard points on the bottom for Passives. The small thing I made is a smoke/oil dispenser.  I'll magnetize 3+ sets of weapons for all 6 cars I have to make.

Please let me know what you think.  I'm also undecided for a paint scheme.  I had planned on the MFP yellow scheme, but I'm going to do them as Ford Falcons already and I don't want to get too burned out on it. I was thinking a deep orange....

Magnets are definitely the right way to go for weapon mounts. I wonder if it's worth it adding the bottom mounts, they don't seem to be very visible in the end?

For color, I could imagine a dirty orange with brown detailing and shading would look good, maybe with some yellow stripes too.

I don't know too much about Dark Future, but from having looked at other car combat games here and there, it seems like a popular choice for windscreens is to reinforce them with chainlink fence or similar, probably to help against grenade and other thrown explosives entering the vehicle interior if the glass is shattered. Maybe you can add this to the canopy as well, just a thought :)

Oh btw, Steve Jackson Games wil re-release Car Wars sometime in the future! It's a good year to be a car combat enthusiast :)

Thanks!

The other interceptor I have was already partially converted.  The engine cover was cut out and the windscreen was painted silver.  No chance on saving that, so I added the chain screen to it.  So this one that you see here was sold to me by a member here for a very fair price.  The car was absolutely untouched aside from being off the sprue.  The canopy was also like-new.  That's why I decided to cut off more chassis in order to show off the driver.  I also mounted a magnet to the top of the canopy for the turret.  I imagine that at this time in the game there could be some sort of super expensive clear aluminum or some-such to be bullet-proof/armored. I really just want to paint up the cockpit and driver really well and show it off ;)

I see. Can't wait to see the finished car and the other interceptor, looking very promising so far :)
