I bought a pack of 80 and split them with a friend.

I was really pleased with the purchase.

I painted a bunch up as WWW1 troops and set a few aside as Post-Apoc heavy baddies.

 lol

I don't want to double post but my WWW1 fellows are shown here:

I've got some that will eventually be British Space Empire and Astro-Hungarian troops for a diesel-punk Mars campaign (set around 1910-20).

As The Beast told me some time ago, the Imperials have a very 'Scarlet Traces' vibe.

Pics of the test-scheme I did yesterday (that I'm pretty happy with):

Thanks. they're getting there. I didn't have a good khaki so I mixed my own and was quite plesed with the result. So I painted up a few more the next day - only my mixing was a bit off and it's now obvious that this first guy's khaki suit is much more 'orangy' than the next five, who are more greeny. Oh well, probably next time I paint some, they'll be a diferent colour again!

Don't know whether that last comment was directed at me, but if so, here's a group shot:

Better pictures will have to wait until... May or thereabouts, the weather in Britain is very grey at the moment and I feel we won't get to see the sun for about 7 months.

There is some touching up to do and I need to paint the guns and equipment, and the bases obviously, but I'm quite pleased with how they look so far.

I quickly painted a few of those figs up when experimenting with dipping a few years ago.

Apart from the first guy shown I used heads that came from the gangly Robogear infantry models and a bright scheme to make them ore suitable for use in pulp sci-fi, Space Ranger sort of games. I also added more sci-fi looking backpacks from somewhere.  Pretty basic paint jobs and awful photos, but it shows the figures versatility I think.

I would have zero issue using them as Imperial Guard as supplied (that regiment have autoguns rather than lasguns).

FYI, The instructions originally supplied with the models stated that polystyrene cement should not be used to assemble the figures.  Superglue was recommended.  I dont think that the plastic is styrene, so it cant be melted properly by polystyrene cement.

Thanks.  Its a very different look from the gritty looking guys shown throughout this thread, but I think that it shows that the figures are decent and that for the price they are hard to ignore.

Prince August is about an hours drive from where I live.  Their factory shop offers an additional discount, making them even better value again.  Definitely my first stop for some grimdark grunts.
