Cynosure, the multi-dimensional city. (With Pics)
« on: 11 February 2013, 05:12:53 PM »
Hi,
Here's the start of another project I'll probably never complete, inspired partly by Grimjack, a comic from the 80's, and partly inspired by the idea of a game where almost any miniature can be used and anything can happen. For those unfamiliar with Cynosure it is a city where every dimension intersects, enabling the comic to have everything from sci-fi blasters and hover cars, magic and mysticism and of course lots of the old ultra-violence. Grimjacks' way of summing it up was 'This is Cynosure, guns work here, magic works there, swords work every where.' I'm thinking of using an adapted form of Necromunda, combining it with old Warhammer magic rules etc with  some new rules covering dimensional phasing, snowball dimensions etc and setting the game mostly in The Pit, the poorest roughest area of Cynosure, as this is where most of the rough stuff happens. The minis that really inspired me where Copplestones Wasteland Desperados, which I had on my shopping list for years, and recently bought and painted (on another thread in Future Wars) And I have since been painting at a mad rate (at least for me) and though I'd share my latest efforts, apologies for the camera work, they aren't as shiny in real life....

Comments and criticism welcome as always, and any suggestions on alternate rule sets that could possibly be adapted for Cynosure  skirmish games would be much appreciated.

Thanks Bahir, simple and easy to do too. Jase, teh VAtican Guy has a red nose as I started painting him as Sinister from the 2000ad Strip Sinister Dexter, but decided half way through to change him to a priestly type, and I've known a few older Catholic Priests and alot of them had red noses due to a fondness for the booze (no offence meant to any Catholics on here) so decided to keep it.
