Thanks!

Here is a unit I desired to collect quite a long ago - Shire borderers, rushing to the aid of doomed Arthedain.

Main inspiration for this unit (and all this project honestly) was a marvelous fanfiction novel I read 4 years ago (not available in English unfortunately). One of its plotlines was centered on a group of said hobbit militiamen, wandering in a ravaged Arhedain and later in Angmar. Absolutely stunning fanfiction with some smart historical parallels written with great respect to Tolien's style.

Nice unit of halflings. How do they compare size-wise with Games Workshop's Lord of the Rings figures? I am looking to add to my Hobbit militia but I am finding that everyone's idea of a halfling is different so I have yet to find any that scale well together.

Thanks! I don't have any original LOTR hobbits now but had some in the past. Looks like these are the same size but I reduced them 10-15% in editor. Looks like most halflings on the market are quite large!

Across the Realms

They make almost all miniatures needed for Scouring of the Shire. I used archers and heroes, but modified them a bit:
Added cloaks for winter feel and added bowstrings - 3d-printed bows are very fragile.
Also added a feathered hat to a bareheaded hobbit archer that smokes a pipe.

On the negative side: I found some details on the minis too thin. As I made them 10-15% smaller, they turned out less detailed than they should be. It is a problem with most 3d-minis.

WA halflings are nice, but for me they are too heavily armored and late medieval in appearance.
Also I don't loke thin fragile weapons for which WA miniatures are notoriously famous.

Author of the novel - "Ingvall" Baranovsky lives in USA, but wrote his book in russian, mostly for the former USSR audience. As I understood he is quite a well-known person among russian-speaking Tolkien community.

Judging on their rough and menacing look, I suppose at least some of them are Bucklanders.

Full unit of 10 Arnor infantry, or as I call them - Arthedain Pseudocomitatenses  :D

Idea was to show the degradation of kingdom's power and military - old and rugged recruits in colorful uniforms and rich but battered armor.

Thanks!

They have Fireforge Byzantines bodies - hands. heads, weapons and shields are from different kits, mostly Gripping Beast and Wargames Factory.
