These clockwork wonders can pull so much multiple duty
« on: 26 May 2013, 03:12:47 AM »
The new faction for Warmachine, the Convergence of Cyriss, has stolen my heart (as have most of the factions for the game, in one way or another.) I explain why I'm now a devotee of the Maiden of Gears. Warning: Long on fluff-love, low on crunch. Like none.

You write well.   8)

Unfortunately/fortunately none of the miniatures in the game struck an aesthetic convergence for me.  See (Usual Wikipedia warning and cautions here) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aesthetics for an interesting start on why we, in part, instantly like or don't like some miniatures.     ::)

I blame my History based background (one of my degrees) for wanting things to not be "beyond the third sigma" if they are reflecting human/humanoid structure. Or maybe it's because I am an American (insert adjective of choice) with the traits there of...   ;)

I suppose it's my limitation - maybe that is why I like JRRT style (just not the slavish imitations) or Poul Anderson or Ursula le Guin styles rather than Terry Pratchett or L K Rowling or GW style Fantasy, so called "realistic" Science Fiction than Science Fantasy , and VSF more than Steampunk.   :)

You present a very good case for why you like what you like.  Well done.

Gracias,

Glenn
