Yup, I've always loved that image, something about the idea that when it all goes to rack and ruin, anyone in a uniform is pressed in to try and restore order...

Been waiting for Hasslefree to produce this guy for ages, now!
Proudly not painting Wars of The Roses since... ever

I think haslfree are working on a post apocalypse postie so the traffic wardens should be that far behind. lol

As for coppers here are four of manchester's from after the dead have started walking.

Poundland's always a good shout for the discerning wargamer! They had some Cararama 1/72 Landrovers and other cold war/ modern vehicles in for a while. I probably looked quite strange emptying the shelves of them...  :D

No there met to be authorised firearms officer's based on pictures from there wikipedia page. ( the blue is a little to light.) but the idea of a rouge gang of specials pcsos running around isn't a bad idea. lol

@Commander Vyper; nah, the blue chequerboard is a fairly universal symbol for the police; differs from force to force where it's actually applied; up here we don't have PCSO's, but all the newer armour covers have the reflective chequerboards. I'd added it to break up the sea of black a wee bit (and just to show off a bit if I'm honest..!)

Planning on doing one as a traffic cop with a hi-viz armour cover next...  8)

Cheers
Iain.

Great painting on the Police.

If I may ask, what is a PCSO?

Thanks.

A PCSO is a police community support officer.

Well I am glad the police are looking after themselves. I wouldn't have thought they would need guns to support other police officers and their "community". It would be nice for them to get out in the real world and do some policing.  ;D  Aka shooting baddies  lol

Seriously, what a silly name / branding. PCSO...   :?

In my agency we had "CRU"  Community Response Unit and "CREW" another 'community response' unit for higher crime areas and as extra muscle for the holidays....

Most of these guys were pretty gung ho and well, the rest of us were happy that way....lol

I always found the policeman with the bandaged face from "Threads" to be a good example of how a law enforcement officer could look like in teh aftermath of a nuclear war or similar catastrophe.

Good reference. The pedant in me has to point out that's a traffic warden.
