Thanks for the interest.  My family and I are in the process of moving to a new city, which has cut into my painting!  It will likely be a couple of months before the next unit steps up.

Painting has been slow lately due to the move, so I'm happy that I was able to get these finished.  Front Rank Moscow Militia.  They're supposed to be all armed with pikes, but I thought they looked too uniform for militia, so I mixed in some weapons from my bits box (muskets, carbines, axes and a sabre), and I tried to jumble them up on the stands to make the look less well drilled.  The banner is speculative (i.e., I made it up!), based on Moscow's patron, St George.

I also managed to finish some senior officers to support FM Kutuzov

Time to resurrect this thread and show you some more Russians!

Napoleon noted that an army marches on its stomach, and the Russian army has learnt from their implacable opponent.  Here is the Russian logistics machine in action!

I've also added a regiment of New Russia Dragoons:

Regrettably, there is always the butcher's bill to be paid:

And as my wife told me I needed to paint something else, anything else, just for variety, I have added this lady from a century after Napoleon's downfall:

"Power to the Soviets!"

Apologies for resurrecting such an old thread.  I've been steadily (but slooooooooowly) adding to my Russian army.  I've started to catalogue my results on my brand new blog:

Comments welcome!
