Mini ID help
« on: 15 January 2014, 03:47:49 AM »
Hi, these little guys (not the hq orc)  are the first minis I ever had. Just wondering who made them, and if they are still in production, highly doubtful as that may be. I just put the heroquest orc in for scale, so I think they are 6mm. Of the bottom of each it has FA written and the numbers are 42 on hue he archer, 43 on the swordsman and on the guy holding the bolt it is 48. They are orcs and the one with the bolt was from a small set including a ballista, if I remember correctly it was called ballista human slayer.

What scale are the GW Warmaster minis?  I dunno, any idea how old they are?

Quite old. I got them in about 89 or so, maybe earlier maybe later. But around then. They definitely predate warmaster.

I think that they are 15mm Orcs made by Tin Soldier!

I have some of their ancients from the same time frame and they are cast in a very soft and bendy metal.

The Tin Soldier figures are great in a cartoony, nearly Asterix style, way! They are clearly still available here, but the fantasy pics are rather lacking:
