15 mm transport for my infantry
« on: 27 June 2014, 04:12:19 AM »
After a sale at Die Con and a sale at "late Lunch" today I am ordering some wheels (and tracks) for moving troops around from Combat Wombat.

3 x Pitbull, 3 x Fennec, 3 x 8x8 APC and a Heavy Tracked MICV x 1 should give me some mixed options...

I am curious to see how they compare to my collection of "15 mm" SF troops from the 1970s to today...

Gracias,

Glenn

I don't think I see a lot of combat wombat around here, or anywhere really. I'm curious to peoples opinions of their products and some more comparison pictures.

I haven't got any myself as I'am occupied with other 15mm companies atm.

However from those few pieces I've seen they look pretty solid, especially considering the price, which is extremely cheap. Combat Wombat also sells a range of gun barrels, which also look good, and look much better than the guns you originally get on the vehicles. This is only from what i've seen done by others on the web though.

Combat Wombat are wonderful minis. Scotty is a great guy to deal with as well. I'm in the UK and have never had any problems ordering direct.
Two photos from my old site. The turrets on the apcs and the stowage are my work. Infantry are Peter Pig IDF.

The Combat Wombat stuff is very decent, if requiring a little bit more work to finish. Nothing major, just some bits & pieces of resin to tidy up. Scotts an excellent guy to do business with. Highly recommended. All these are from CW, except the Enterprise shuttle & my sons car...

I have the fennec the 8x8 and the heavy GRAV micv which has the same body as the tracked.
My impression of the Fennec and the 8x8 is they are small compared to other company's APCs. I like the MICV's. I'm using the grav fennecs I have as scout vehicles, similar to HMMWV's. They'll hold four guys plus the driver for one of my armys.

Here's some pictures.

Okay, I will use them with my "small" 15 mm figures (even for the 1970's) part of my collection.

Gracias,

Glenn
