Warlands does look interesting. I like fast playing games (Carwars dragged way too much IMHO). Does it use a lot of dice? How long does a "usual" game last time-wise?

Ummm... I think I'd just keep converting Matchbox & Hot Wheels cars for the game.

Okay to make painting suggestions? Dirty up the sides of the tires, the rims of the wheel wells, and the front of the sides/fenders where they meet the grill and hood. These are the area that always look nasty after I do some off-rode fun. And in the wasteland it is arid and dusty. It gets into everything!

"Porsche with the toilet seat on top" - I like that one too... And the truck with the American Civil War flag! Yeeeehaaaaaa!!! The south rides again ya'll!!!!
Never underestimate the power of human stupidity.

How does Dark Future play? I downloaded the free pdf from GW's site yesterday, and I think I can reconstruct the road tiles needed from the diagrams in the rules - but I won't bother if everybody thinks the rules are utter rubbish...?
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

@Argonor - other people may have had different experiences, but I've always found with Dark Future that the track is a little restrictive. A favourite tactic of a few players in the club was to have the heaviest weapon they could pointing  backwards (or on a turret), and in the first turn make certain to roar ahead, shooting at the nearest vehicle behind and (often) dropping smoke. In fact, it's been so long since I played last that I'm already vague on the rules, but I remember that turret mounted heavy weapons + first turn = early kill.

Of course, I could just have been playing it wrong!

But don't let that put you off, Argonor! I'm notoriously bad at every game that I play, so it could just be that I didn't understand the tactics! It's still a lot of fun - it's just that after playing Battlecars for years as a teenager, I really love the open spaces you can have to roar around, and I'm eager to recreate that. And as I said, other people may well have had different experiences with Dark Future, if, unlike me, they actually made it to the third road tile!

I just wondered - I think I could more easily use the Nuclear Renaissance rules (which are simple, but effective) for some car crazyness..

We have bikes that fit that scale

Our first gang is more Valiant 1/72 scale, but we will sculpting some 20mm DF scale soon.

Our range do fit nicely with hit wheels and matchbox vehicles nicely

Check out the comparison shots here.

Fab work!

Reminds me of the stuff I did for Dark Future ages ago -- so long ago I don't even have pics of them...

I will point out that, since this thread was started, even Hot Wheels has put out some ready-for-combat cars. Course, the weapons need serious repaint, but the weapons ARE there.

Stan Johansen makes a series of 20mm PA figs in 20mm under the Road Rage rang. He even has weapon bits to stick on the cars. Just doa search for Stan Johansen Miniatures and he should pop up.

Are there cave paintings?   ;) lol lol

Ha ha haa...

It was the age before cheap digital cameras.

I didn't own a decent camera and I couldn't afford film anyways, consequently much of my early work has not been photographed.

Later I dug up part of it for a photo shoot, but the Dark Future stuff wasn't included. Probably because it was a separate set sitting in its own box.
