Hi,

This little lot was given to Michael at Salute.  Unfortunately there was a camera mishap and it took a little bit of time to get the pics on the net.

This is the sort of thing you can expect but finished with high quality basing and obviously more minis :) :

There are high quality pics of the mini's grouped together on my Gewalthaufen Blog:

Thanks for looking,
Darrell.

The pictures on Gewalthaufen look very nice – well done :-*

What does "Gewalthaufen" mean in English? – a heap of trouble?

Pretty much... 'heap of trouble' or 'pile of trouble' is idiomatic for the literal translation 'pile of violence', which we wouldn't say.  :)

Nice figures too Darrell... very impressive.  :)

Very nice Darrel..

Gewalt doesn´t necessary translate as Violence..that´s the more common modern use of the word Gewalt, but it can also mean control or force. Staatsgewalt for example  doesn´t translate to or mean Stateviolence..(a matter of perspective though ) and haufen, troop/band of Brothers depending on context (idiomatic) so Gewalthaufen would more likely be meant (in the period) as troop of force, not violence...though a modern direct Translation could indeed be violent heap/Pile/stack..even mob/crowd/rabble.

Thanks for the interesting comments guys  ;)

I've been wracking my (poor) brains to remember where I came up with the idea of the name, given at the time the blog was going to deal with the 'Burgindian Wars I think it was in reference to a 'square' of Swiss(?) Of possibly a 'square' of Landskechts(?). Swiss are more likely given my line of thinking at the time.

And thanks the compliments of course  ;)

Darrell.

Thanks Don, they were a pleasure to paint and to be honest I really didn't expect Michael to move into the Italian Wars etc so they came as a real treat to me too.

I do hope that one day we may see an expansion thought with all the plastic boxed sets I wonder if there's any need?

Darrell.
