USX: Basic Scenario

Here is a few photos of playtesting one of the basic scenarios of USX: Modern Day Heroes, pitting Deep Ones against a SWAT team.

What is the strange green, spiky object. Looks important,

It is just terrain it is some death world xacti I did for rogue trader settings, but I used them here too as I don't have much modern/cthulhu orientedvterrain.

How did you like the rules?

I think they were pretty easy to follow and good enough for basic gaming. My main problem is that it doesn't seem to be supported by RAFM anymore, so it is hard to come up with stats and point values for characters and monsters.

So for the reasons above I will probably only play the two basic scenarios for convention gaming and not evolve on the system and scenarios. Which is a shame.

RAFM had a USX KS awhile back, but cancelled the funding. Drop 'em a note and offer your playtesting services. I think their mistake was to make a generic fantasy battle USX system. A Cthulhu one might work.

You can use this system for your campaign game and level up your Heroes or a "gang".
http://rafm.com/Storage/USX/USX%20Post%20Apocalyptic%20Campaign%20Rules.pdf - These are post apocalyptic based but they have the different Cthulhu monsters in it.
You can choose from these different "gangs". It also has skill rules you can add to your games, but we do not suggest them unless you are used to the basic rules.

I deffinately like the rules and could see myself showcasing tvem on different conventions.
