It's had it's peak I feel, and some time ago too.

That's my general feeling too.  I was given the UW Junkers pictured earlier around 2012 and IIRC the game had already mostly gone away by then.

Never played the game, but have a ton of unpainted minis from those lines.

Some really good stuff, some mediocre stuff, and some awful stuff.

I feel like a lot of people in this thread -- I never really messed with the game, but it does have some nice models which I use here and there in other projects. To me, I feel like it was just not ... distinct enough, somehow? I like the Junkers and I like the Viridians, but I don't care about them. Good source of fun sci-fi models, though.

Void, in my mind, was sort of an attempt at what Mantic is doing now with Warpath etc. For a while, it was almost the only viable alternative to 40k, if you knew about it. I think there was 40k, Warzone and Void.

I vaguely remember this.  Wasn't I-Kore (maker of Void) born out of the ashes of Target Games (maker of Warzone)?  I think I recall a brief time when you could find Warzone, Void and 40k on the shelves together, but I think Void took over from Warzone as the 40k competitor.  Both lines of minis were somewhat similar to 40k minis in terms of proportion and sculpting style, though the overall Void aesthetic was cleaner and more "shiny".

IIRC, Warzone was the 40k competitor in the 90's and the various incarnations of the Void and Urban War universe took stabs at 40k throughout the 00's.   Both companies also had WHFB competitors as well Chronopia (Target) and Celtos (I-Kore).

I was running a game store throughout this period, and that's a fairly accurate description of the situation as I remember it.  Warzone was pretty much gone from general distribution (ie Alliance & Wargames West in the US) by the time the first I-Kore VOID figs were solicited, although you could still get most of the Target Warzone and Chronopia models through Excelsior Entertainment at that point.  Both Warzone and VOID were certainly aimed directly at grabbing some of the 40K player base.  Neither succeeded very well in the long run, although both will always have adherents.

I've got a few of them. The great thing is that they're the same size and proportions as the EM4/grenadier Future Wars figs. I think the best in that respect were the first releases of the new incarnation of the Viridians. The later releases less so.

Totally agree. The initial colonial marine sculpts are great but the latter releases that replaced them just looked off. The arms seemed awkward on them and the heads were not as good and likewise were just awkwardly posed. Thankfully the original set of marines is available through Scotia Grendel although the price is a bit of a misstep in my opinion (in fact the whole UW range could do with a slightly more sensible price structure!).

I really like the minis a lot and I started playing this with a buddy at my gaming club.  Unfortunately, no-one else at the club joined in and my buddy quickly moved onto other systems.  That being said I'm keeping the minis as they are just fantastic :)

They are some really nice figs. I just picked up a few at the Cold Wars flea market recently.
Even better when they have a superb paint job on them.

Loving the pics of these figs.

The girls with wings were some of the Void 1.1 figs that made it into Urban War, yes?

Warzone and Urban War both had significant Sci-fi troopers on dinosaurs.  What company is keeping that theme alive?

There's the Urban War The Game site with a European webstore and Scotia Grendel in the UK.

I bought the rules and pick up the Urban Mammoth minis whenever I find them in a flea market or bring&buy, but I always thought they were a tad over-priced for what they are, compared to other products on the market.  The core skirmish game is OK, but lacked anything to make it stand out as different from the alternatives.  Nothing new emerged to tempt me in, in terms of minis or rules.  Eventually, i stopped waiting and moved into Infinity.  Never looked back!

Sorry, I meant are there any newer games keeping the dino-riders idea going.   I'm aware of Scotia Grendel and Prince August.  I've bought a couple things from Prince August and considered ordering from Scotia Grendel a few times, but I kept finding good deals on Void Junkers here in the USA.  A couple years ago a local store brought out a huge amount of Void 1.1 NOS stuff at half price and on the used market I've averaged about one buck each for metal infantry stuff.

I still have quite a few figs on hand to paint for this army:
-20 more metal Legionnaires
-8 Suicide bombers
-6 Sandrunners
-8 Centurious
-5 Exo suits (kind of like GW terminators)
-10 or so assorted foot troops
-1 Desert Maurader (dune buggy) with flamethrower
-25 plastic Legionnaires that I'll probably arm with swords and machine pistols
-Big and small Viridian Weapons platforms on the back of dinosaurs that I'll recrew with Junkers.
-4 more Bauhaus Dino riders

Though they came up in a general 'who makes [this] kind of figure' discussion, I noticed Koralon are conspicuous in their absence here. Any love?
