Have just been thumped in my first WNA battle

These didn't make it to the party. Fortunately, since the dam' Yankee artillery was rather more effective than that of the Geenyuine Sutth'n Genn'lm'n (being the conflicting forces).

The laws of probability do not apply to my dice in wargames or to my finesses in bridge.

Four months painting, and in the first round of the campaign the rebels were so badly walloped that I had to surrender unconditionally. Which, I suppose, is an improvement on the reality.

Virginia was set on fire by the first shot of the war, and never recovered. The Yanks got the jump on us with first moving every round before we could deploy properly, and having secured an early advantage were smart enough to use it; I was outflanked time after time. The one moment of glory was breaking the Iron Brigade, but that didn't save the Lost Cause.

(I realise the Colorado flag is an anachronism, but I couldn't resist it. It's on the wall in one scene in The Shining, one of my favourite movies.)

The camps. The NRA, sorry, KKK, didn't really exist yet, but the Knights of the Golden Circle did. Note Yankee camp is enjoying a surprise visit by Mrs Mary Lincoln, her husband, and Mr Booth (my opponent tells me I try too hard with my feminism).

Figures are a mix of Newlines, Pendraken, Red Eagle (ramship) and Leven (most buildings).

I assume WNA is the War of Northern Aggression? I prefer WSMGGGMF (War to set my great-great-great grandmother free).

What rules?
And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

Good name, but I fear unusable for non-Americans. I enjoy the Dixie name in memory of a Carolina ex-girlfriend. The rules used were my own A Hundred Circling Camps.

Can one get a copy of these rules?

Presently I've been using Bloody Big Battles for ACW games. Shiloh is a moderate sized game, the first day usually beig played in 4 hours.

Nice photos,nice report.
