From the forum photographs I could not tell if they cladding was flat or textured (from the blog post it appears to be flat).

The finished walls look good, but I do agree the lintels look a bit large.

I look forward to seeing this at Salute.

Well the proof of any such construction surely must be in the resulting pudding ...as it were! Looks pretty good to me ....even if the undercoated rubble is causing me chocolate cake cravings?

Did the original MDF building help, or have you added so much stuff you could have built this without it?

If I were Al, I would not need the reassurance of the MDF.  But I'm not.  The MDF was a HUGE help. 

I'm not a great modeller, but I hope to get a decent end result due to copying techniques.  The very thought of building this alone would horrify me.

That's useful to hear. I wondered after you have added so much to the basic frame, whether you still thought the MDF building helped. I can understand having a good solid starting point lets you add the various cladding to give the interesting textures and colours, without having to worry about the basic 'box' staying together.

I've done something very similar.   Cutting all the windows is a bit tedious!

I think it looks quite reasonable. The size of the lintels/sills aside my only niggle is the disparity in size between the bricks in the rubble and those in the wall covering, it rather diminishes the effect of both IMO.

I think it looks amazing. You are being to hard on yourself. I am certainly taking notes and stealing what I can for a planned Grozny table.
