I bought a couple of boxes of dwarves,to date I've only assembled five :'(

I do like them though, I don't even mind the arms. My niggles are...

Not enough helmets. I'd like enough Saxon style helmets for the unit.
No scabbards for the sword arms.
Not enough depth to the beards. The back of them are flat, which can look er, flat, on the figures.

Am I glad I bought them? Yes, I am.  :D

In my opinion, the conversions with the Viking heads don't work. I am going to use them as is, they look more dwarfy...

Nice paint jobs.

I like them, and will get some, even though I have no immediate use for them.

The kitbashing with the Viking heads looks like a great way to make young dwarf warriors who’ve yet to grow the iconic beards of their older kinsmen :)

I have just f#$%*&g tried to f#$%*&g glue some b@$^@d plastic multipart multipose multipaininthebum figures and have been reminded of why I hate them.  The only think that got stuck were my fingers and everything else fell apart. I think I will give plastic orcs and dwarves (and probably elves) a miss.  I may buy the metal ones.  Otherwise, I will be looking at other producers.   >:( >:( >:( >:(

The metal dwarves, incidentally, are better, to my mind, than the plastic ones and most of the metal orcs are perfectly fine.

Multipart is one of those things you either love or hate. Luckily there’s so much variety on the market that we can all find what suits us :)

Are you using plastic glue? I must admit, while I prefer metal models to paint, for assembly, plastic is streets ahead...

You are using the wrong glue. Get yourself some of this.

I have not tried the new dwarfs (I got a sprue at Salute, so it could be years before I do anything with them).

Assuming they have not changed the plastic mix from the barbarians, cultists, soldiers and gnolls, the plastic should bond using Humbrol liquid poly.

Some plastics do resist Humbrol liquid poly, I have had issues with some Rubicon kits (they have a higher ABS content). Other modellers report that Tamiya thin cement is suitably more aggressive.

I even managed to glue together Starship Trooper miniatures with liquid poly.

Or some of this:

Probably harder to get where you want it, though.

I really have no idea what I'm doing.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but does anyone have extra Conqueror Dwarves they'd like to get rid of? I like them a lot, but I'd only need some poses for a abdn of skirmishers, and not entire ranks of spear-dwarves (of all options...) I asked if they would sell them in smaller numbers, but as one might guess, they're not really keen on that idea. lol

Or failing that, I could order them and then split the packs with someone? They're not badly priced, so I might just order a bunch, and then sell extras off in my good time.

EDIT: oh yeah, Andy from Conqueror also told me they're going to release bow/x-bow dwarves later, and probably some with one-hand weapons (axes & short swords). So it's looking better and better for heavy troops.
