Are these 28mm or 15mm? And I looked on the Northstar site and could not find them. Could you please send a link? Thanks!

28mm, not released yet.  Test sprues were handed out at Salute, the UK gaming convention.

Very happy with these "generic" dwarves. They look suitably grim and purposeful.

Looking good, might use that paint scheme! Do you mind sharing the painting techniques and colors involved?

I have reviewed these 28mm scaled miniatures here http://wargameterrain.blogspot.be/2017/04/northstar-miniatures-plastic-fantasy_30.html

I was totally unaware that Northstar are working on dwarves...! :o

Well, I have to admit, they look too much like vikings for me... and the boar standard tells that this is intentionally. Not my cup of tee, sorry. But the painting is nice and I, too, like especially the shields.

I like the look of these figures, and I like how you have painted yours.  Well done all around.

I don't like the faces. they aren't really full of character.

Will not be my favourite dwarves.

Still, they seem technically well made and plastic makes good convertibilty.

Cheers

Good stuff!

I like these dwarves precisely because of the faces, oddly enough. They're sufficiently non-human looking to be interesting, and they've got a scowling, surly quality that's in line with their characterisation in the sagas and folklore.

These look awesome, but I say that as someone who always thought Games Workshop dwarves (and Orks for that matter) were trash.  These are cartoonish in the right way, a bit in the face but otherwise just short and stocky (not potbellies with hamfists and stump legs).  They remind me of the Rankin&Bass cartoons, especially the fella second from right in the bottom picture.  :) :)

Rankin and Bass IS the Hobbit/ LotR style to me. I liked the movies, but not the style.
