Lurker finally come in from the cold.
« on: October 15, 2009, 06:38:55 AM »
Hi,
I'm Viper...as it says over there.
And I'm from North East Scotland...which it sort of says over there.
 :)

I've been lurking for a while and finally got inspired to sign up by seeing meninobesta's fantasy army, it really was too good to not post a reply about.

I've been into war gaming and miniature building/collecting for oooh, 15 years. Much of that time has been through pretty much every single Games Workshop produced game. Recently though a combination of  personal issues and GW's attitude and prices finally getting too bad led me to take the drastic step of going cold turkey from them, after a number of years of buying very little and then usually only from online retailers.

As such over the last few months I've really taken my first major steps into the vast world of miniatures. I have a huge love of History, Fantasy, Weird Technology, Sci-Fi, Pulp, B-Movies...pretty much a bit of everything when I think about it, so as long as I like the sculpt I'll generally like any model.

Another thing signing up finally allows me to do is check out different game systems I can use my pile of GW, and slowly growing pile of other companies models for. There aren't really any fantasy/sci-fi gaming groups near me (possibly as a result of the local GW shop), but if I find a system I really like you can be sure I'll attempt to bully friends who still to varying degrees play GW games to try something different.
 :D

And so that's me, a Scotsman in his early 20s with eclectic tastes who's finally come in from the cold.

Sounds like you've come home then  ;)
Welcome.
(Loving the Keira Knightley shot, by the way. Shame about the film, but I liked her outfit  :))

Couldn't agree more, she was pretty much if not the only thing worth watching in that movie.

Welcome in our warm home for miniature freaks. And, yes, I have to admit that movie is top of the "no watching list" (or, to be more accurate "never admit I've watched it list").

What outfit?  ::)  ;)

That's what I like about it ;)

Almost as much as I like Milla Jovovich's bandage outfit in The Fifth Element...  :-*

Ah yes very much second to Milla.

Thank you for the replies, and yes I didn't notice there was a Vyper around here already.
