Hello everyone. I have a question for y'all. I just picked up a McFarlane AT-11 Scorpion Gunship. It retailed at Wal*Mart for 21 USD with tax.
I was wondering about it being used for 28mm tabletop service. the specs of the RDA Scorpion are as follows:
In Real Life...12.2 m long or 40.02 feet
...................8.73 m wide or28.64 feet
...................3.5 m high or 11.5 feet
I usually use 1:48 scale as default specs when I build a miniature.
The McFarlane toy specs out at:
22.86cm=9 inches long or 38 feet in 1:48 scale from tail lights to tip of forward sensor pod
18.3cm=7 1/16 inches wide or 28.5 feet in 1:48 scale from outer edges  of propeller shrouds
7.62cm=3 inches wide or 12 feet at top outer edges of propeller shrouds

I think it looks ok next to figures, but I want your opinions, I'll post a pic shortly.
Thanks everyone!!

Certainly wouldn't be bad as a single pilot gunship for 28mm figures, especially those on the smaller side.

It would actually work well as a 30K regular human piloted flyer as the Astartes would look appropriately big next to it.

It would probably even work as a two-seater gunship for 15mm figures too based on the picture.

I've been trying to do a Dry January thing around hobby spend (with mixed success ::)), but your post caused me to fall off the wagon last night :D

Kindly old Amazon has just delivered one each of Scorpion Helicopter and RDA Seawasp

For some reason the seawasp just shows on Amazon as an "action figure" ???

There are pilots in the cockpits, at least 25mm, so yeah, these will make excellent 28mm attack helicopters. Many thanks for the tip :D

Thanks for the comparison pics. I measured the figs at the store and IIRC, they're 37MM sole to eye (very close to 1/48), but realistically slender compared to most wargame figures. The choppers and mechs should scale/size perfectly with anything from 28-35mm.

Oh, nice find! Hadn’t heard about those and the prices are okay. Thanks!
For me they look perfect for 28mm or repainted as troop carriers they might also work in 15mn.

They are nice kits.

They are so heavily armed, however, that I'm not sure how well they would stat up for most games lol I see mine being used more as objectives (although my gaming table is pretty small, which doesn't help)

Thanks for the tip with this item I did not know existed but no must have.

The Miracle of Google tells me they are stocked by our local Dork Culture chain and go for around AUD$45.

I think they'll be great for objectives and scenery in a variety of Future Wars style games.
