I'm looking for suggestions for rules please that would hit these points for a good multi-player convention game with new players:
* fast play
* ~6–12 survivors per player
* hordes of zombies that can be moved on group trays for speed of play
When I was last doing zombie games many years ago, we were modifying Space Hulk rules, and I might go back to that, but am curious about what other options are out there now.

Comments on why any particular set of rules would good for this would be much more helpful than just 'look at X'.

I've just built a 4'x6' board of East New York for gaming The Warriors with 25mm figures.  The buildings will all work fine with 20mm too.  I have hundreds of painted 1/72-ish figures from Twilight Creation's old board game Zombies!!!, plus bunches of painted 1/72 and 20mm survivors, including old Dark Future minis.

The board is set during June 1979.  One of the time stamps on the buildings is the double feature playing at the local grindhouse: Dawn of the Dead, and Master Killer (now known as the 36th Chamber of Shaolin), $1 all shows!

I'll be doing more on the streets later detailing and dirtying them up.  In the mad rush getting it ready for the first convention outing at Huzzah this past weekend, there was only time to spray paint the concrete areas the day before leaving for the con.  I was still painting trains when we got to the hotel.

Akula's Ar:se would be a good suggestion.  Quick easy and intuitive.
