Help with a convention game idea.
« on: 26 November 2013, 02:27:45 PM »
I've had this idea on my mind for some time now, but am not sure how to make it work. I've seen pleny of "Saving Private Ryan" convention games, but the game I'd really like to try would be based on the Humphrey Bogart Movie, "Sahara". I'm not even sure if it would be possible to do this. I would guess that it would have to be some sort of semi-skirmish game, with all of the defenders of the water hole being run by the players, and the Germans being run by the GM. I was thinking about modifying BOlt Action. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Jane! Stop this crazy thing!

Since you are dealing with 'heroes' would it not be better to try a set of Pulp style rules? My first thought was 'Pulp Alley' or I believe Iron Ivan do a pulp set?

I think it is a great idea, specially because with the defenders all in one side, you can have younger recruits,or new players, the GM would explain the rules etc.
A good way to find more WW2 enthusiasts!!!

Great idea! That's an excellent movie and I can definitely see it playing out as a scenario.
