Eureka Napoleonic Revolutionary Russians - Pic Heavy
« on: July 08, 2010, 12:05:44 PM »
Most of my latest parcel consisted of the new Russian range where it is upto, which is the line infantry as musketeers, grenadiers and guard. The cossacks are also ready. More will follow down the line I am sure with cavalry and artillery.

I'll post the cossacks first and as time is gone tonight, will do the infantry on the weekend.

These figures are all 28mm as per the rest of the range. There are comparison shots around the web of others in this range with other ranges if necessary. Sculpting by Alan Marsh.

Cossacks Looting

I'm not sure why the first cossack is dancing with a pot on his head, but the keen sighted will notice the small Eureka Arky helmet on it. The 2 guys carrying the chest are seperate pieces, as is the chest. There is a lug on each guys hand that goes in a hole in the chest. When I saw the pony my first thought was back to my old D&D days with a dungeon pony. I can always use  more pack ponies. The guy courtseying with the candles is an odd pose, as is the last foot figure kissing a duck, but hey, what happens in the steppe stays in the steppe I guess. I assume these are all based on some painting I don't know about.

Cossacks dismounted and Heptman

For my own curiosity some one may point out what the thin pointy stick in the heptmans hand is

Thanks for that! Mine are being picked up today by friends at Historicon, but I hadn't seen pictures of most of them yet.

I'd say most people become more familiar with the knout while staying indoors, preferably in dungeons that charge by the hour and by peccadillo.

Apart from that, those are some excellent figures with great skirmish gaming and general comedic potential.

A cossack with a duck, how charming!

Loads of ideas with the looting cossacks, thanks for the photos.

Just the perfect figures for a 1814 scenario too...  ;)

The rest of the infantry range. Photos are bit dark I'm sorry, my camera is on it's last legs after being in too many corrosive work sites :(
I don't know the pack names, just the numbers. If I guessed wrongly in the sergeant officer bit, please point it out so I can fix it

I spent part of yesterday scanning the NY Public Library collection for cossack pictures. Now I just need my friends to actually remember to pic up my figures from Nic and Rob and I'll be all set! I was going to limit myself to one unit of 24 each of musketeers and grenadiers, but after seeing these pictures I already feel the urge to order more.
