Looking great. Both the Nef and the Landship.
The Lion head works a lot better in the new position.
Where are the cannons from?
For the front deck on the Nef I would stick with the harpoon idea, could be used for grappling other nefs for boarding or from holding in place while your fixed forward firing guns pound it to liftwood matches.

Both those contraptions are looking really good, the harpoon gun sounds like a great option, I guess it all depends on how it looks to you and how well armed you would like it.

They are from a GW Dwarf organ gun - awesome value for 4 cannons

Exactly what I was thinking. I just have to figure out how to scratchbuild one. Maybe using the tripod piece on the left as a base....

Exactly. I could arm it to the teeth, but for game balance and "realism" (everybody roll their eyes here - I know, its VSF) I think I'll go the middle road and tone it down a bit.

That "Nef" is very nice and is tempting me into getting one of those skiffs...( not ANOTHER project!!).
I've already got the same model for the landship which has been sat on my shelf for more time than I can remember. Excellent idea with the front cannons.

With reference to a harpoon, have you thought of using one form the old "GORKAMORKA" range.


I haven't got the spare rack of harpoons but it's yours if you want.

Excellent idea with the front cannons.

I can't claim credit for that one. A similar landship appeared in a VSF game in the past year or so using front cannons in the same vehicle. I saved the pictures but not the actual thread.
