I realize that this guy is a Heartbreaker Warzone figure of some kind, but I have not idea which faction, etc. Can anyone provide additional information?

It seems to be a first edition "Not-Brit" (Imperial was the faction name, iirc). From the look of the armour, he may be a Blood Beret (minus the beret, duh!) - possibly a character figure (Sergeant or Captain).

Edit: Found him, it's indeed the 1ed Blood Berets Captain:

And the weapon he is sporting is a drum-fed grenade laucher that cant hit a barn (I don't remember the exact name of it)  lol

Used to play an Imperial force, and a Dark Legion force. Quite a while ago I started making profiles for Flying Lead covering Warzone minis, but the project stalled, as my regular gaming buddy could not grasp the fact that the 'Special Rules' of that system are not 'skills'  but merely rules to reflect the individual models (example: Capitol Free Marines are very good at sneaking and infiltrating, according to the fluff; hence, they get 'Stealth'. Big Bob Watts is a Free Marine Hero, however, the model carries around two HMGs mounted high on its shoulders, and as such would find it very difficult to sneak around, so it should NOT get 'Stealth' or other sneaky special rules. Which put my only possible adversary off, regarding the project).
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Those 1st edition Blood Berets are some of my most favorite Warzone sculpts. I am glad to learn who sculpted them.  It is no wonder that they are from Mark Copplestone, as I have also used them in an army of his Future Wars troopers.

On a related note, does anyone know who sculpted the earlier Dark Legion figures?

The initial pack of basic zombie troopers was sculpted by Mark Copplestone, also.  And Kev Adams sculpted a number of the demons/creatures.
