The Battle of the Barracoon
« on: December 10, 2011, 10:17:08 PM »
An account of this sanguinary little action in my Darkest Africa campaign may be found at my blog...

Enjoy, and please leave a comment.  :)

A smart little fight.
Looks like a fun time.
How many players in the game?
Also looked at your blog, very nice, enjoyed looking it over.

Thanks, Marine.  :)

The game was fought solo, Sharp Practice's card-based system is good for that. I added a few house rules to cover hostile native deployment and battleplan while I fought the British side. Oddly enough, the random element can be a lot more lethal to the British/Colonial force than a real-life player can manage.  ;)

Cool.

as a bonus I found out who Talbot Mundy is and that Amazon has Ivory Trail as free download for Kindle:  http://www.amazon.com/The-Ivory-Trail-ebook/dp/B000JQUAYQ/ref=tmm_kin_title_0?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2&qid=1323629497&sr=8-1

Clear the battlefield and let me see
All the profit from our victory.

Felt like I was reading a battle from the Major General's site in the olden days, well done.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

Three cheers for the plucky Barsetshires and their continuing efforts in the eradication of slavery.

I'd be interested to hear some of your ideas on solo play for SP as I fear that's what I'll end up having to do due to lack of Napoleonic interest in my neck of the woods  :'(
