Aegeus the Game
« on: June 10, 2012, 10:13:07 AM »
Hi again all,

Following on from my last post regarding alpha testing some new rules I've added another post to the games blog with some of the early concept art for the Athenian Faction in Aegeus.

http://aegeusthegame.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/announcing-athenians.html

I've also included a little basic fluff, clearly it's quite early in development and so some of this may change and we may have more work to do on the concept art but so far I'm really happy with it and I'm hoping that we can develop an exciting and dynamic miniature range to compliment the ruleset that we're developing.

Comments or criticisms as always are welcome.

G

Lol, Loved infinity and it certainly gave me my interest in non static miniatures.

However it fell short on several points:

  • Models were eye-wateringly expensive.
Blatent power-creep as new stuff was released.
Overly complex rules system that required encyclopedic knowledge of the books and website.

I'm hoping to avoid these if possible.

Another post today, though as I've not more concept art to show off quite yet I've blogged a little on writing the combat system that the rules will use.

http://aegeusthegame.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/on-creating-combat-system.html

I've read a lot of threads about keeping rules secret and hidden until the game is released. I didn't really feel that this is the way I wanted to be with this game, a concept is exactly that it's just a concept and it's probably nothing new so by hiding it away and keeping it under NDAs just seemed a little pointless.

Putting this sort of thing out there allows me to garner some feedback and to be challenged about why we made such a decision one way or the other.

Please feel free to comment, follow the blog and spread the word.

All the best for now
G
