What's a shlem? ???

Helmet in russian  :)

But in international nomenclature it refers to that pointy russian felt thingy, doesn't it?

I was referring to my repro budenovka which was affectionately called a shlem by the troops. Not much of a helmet actually.

But yeah the pointy russian hat with a big star and fold down ear flaps.

Had no idea shlem could mean budenovka, in russian they are two absolutely different things. But it's maybe really the international nomenclature.
