interested in beginning the genre
« on: 07 August 2013, 05:57:35 PM »
So I am thinking of buying a ship and crew.  If I could get my gaming group to all do the same what might we have to look forward to?  Are there good rules for ship to ship battles plus boarding and raiding ports / land targets?  What would you suggest I look into?

Thanks for the tips.

I assume you mean Pirates ?

I think there are several rulesets out there but we have been using the Muskets & Tomahawks rules - works well

Post piccies as you get going

Yes for pirates

Pirates are treated as irregular but their morale shooting and aggression scores are modified

I've had fun with Legends of the High Seas in the past. Unfortunately I think it's out of print but you might be able to get one second hand.

I've just written a set of Pirate Rules - "Dead Man's Chest"  - that I am going to offer to play testers shortly.  They have ship to ship, boarding and land based rules but no scenarios - yet. PM me if you want a copy.
