New 1/56 GAZ trucks coming in Jan 2014
« on: 20 December 2013, 09:09:58 PM »
The Russians are coming...in soft skins!
Just sent these to print a few weeks back, and expect the masters right after Christmas.  These will be some of the first models to go into production for 2014.

BA-10 will use the turret from our BT-5.

I'm very interested in that AA truck, but in the past I've found your models to be rather small compared to my other models. Do you have any idea what the dimensions of the models will be?

As soon as the prints arrive, I'll post pictures next to minis and a ruler.

Depending on what you are fielding, these should be fine, unless you have other versions of the model in 1/43 or 1/48.

I have a Sloppy Jalopy Ford AA in 1/48 - its way too big

edited to add: I just realised the truck is technically an AA AA

I don't know, I have the Matchbox Yesteryear AA in 1:46 and it seems fine to me. But I am using slightly larger figures (Copplestone, Reaper, etc.)

Well, technically, this is a pretty small truck.  But don't let that stop you from using what you have.  It is a game after all, and these are just representations.

I usually just look at width and not height.  A grown man should not be able to lay down lengthwise across the seats without their legs sticking out from the passenger door, or their head smashed against the driver door  :)

That said, our Model T touring car is about 1:48ish. It's possible to release 1:48 versions of the GAZ if there was enough demand for it. The tooling costs of releasing in multiple scales usually is more though that the profit margins you can actually make on the model as a whole. :?
