Old school GW Champion of Tzeentch
« on: 13 May 2014, 09:27:29 AM »
I dug this guy out of the Giant Adolescent Pile of Lead (that is, a pile I collected whilst an adolescent, not a load of stroppy miniatures with acne). He had a disk to ride, but it's a wee bit too cartoony so I decide to base him as a foot soldier.

So, the Blue Man Group Champion of Tzeentch:

I need to work on a number of things, (e.g. more highlight and blend rather than drybrushing) but "how to use static grass on small areas" is chief among them. Not buying cheapo Javis stuff may be lesson #1.

The sand on the base also needs a bit more depth, so may need another go with the drybrush.

What a cool little character...and very nice brush work.  I really like the combination there.  It's refreshing to see a Chaos miniature...with a bit less Chaos.

What a cool miniature. I wouldn't even have noticed it if you hadn't done such a good paint job on it.

Good job. Like the skin tone and the bone coloured armour plates.  :D

Love how he's turned out. Was the disk the flaming sun one?

Nicely done, sir.

And nothing wrong with the basing.

I like the contrast of the bone armor and the shiny. Nice brushwork!

As for the grass, the tall tuft might be a bit tall compared to the mini, but that could just be the angle in the photo as well.

Thanks for sharing,
