After having a bit of a break, here's the latest figure I've just painted from Killer-B's GAFDOZ range of pulp sc-fi figures

Great Miniature. I think he would be great in Flash Gordon themed games :).

Ohh nice painting there, I particularly like you colour choices. :-*

I agree with Flytime he would be perfect for a Flash Gordon game. By the way it has the wife seal of approval, she looked over my shoulder and said "he's nice, like the blues and reds". Now If you knew my wife when it comes to my "little men" that's high praise indeed. lol

Doesn't he look like the villain from "Wild Wild West"? What was his name - you know, the guy Kenneth Brennagh played? Okay, he still has his legs but the face, moustache and helmet look alot like him...

Auton,

Nice paint job.  What was your technique for the gold parts and which paints did you use.

Cheers

Thanks for the praise guys, especially from Mrs Invicta!  :)

Regarding the gold work, here's the way I did it

All the paints used were from the Vallejo Game Color range (co-incidence really as I use a mix of makes)
I started with a black undercoat
Next was a layer of Tinny Tin, being careful to leave some black showing at the joints
Follow that with Glorious Gold & then Polished Gold, both slightly thinned to allow the previous colour to show through at the edges
Finally I picked out the highlights with a 50/50 mix of Polished Gold & Shining Silver

Quite a few steps but it worked out nicely
