Another Vulkan close combat suit for Warzone Resurrection
« on: 03 September 2014, 07:53:10 AM »
After the two suits I did last month, I felt I needed a third. So these are the results after acquiring and converting the model:

Enjoy,

Pretty cool (not a fan of the huge base, but I've never taken to those) and the minor issue of "why have a gigantic suit of armour and leave the pilot's head exposed" design issue.

Like the lamp post idea, pretty cool.  Thanks for sharing.

Top-notch painting as usual, but somehow it looks like it's doing a song-and-dance number.  ;) Also, I feel really bad for my first thought being "wow, what a great mecha-take on Tonya Harding". I blame pop culture.

That notwithstanding, I got a couple of the new Warzone figs yesterday, not in the least because of the great results you managed to squeeze from those minis.

Lovely painting, awful miniature (sorry!). Keep posting though as I enjoy looking at your efforts.

Thank you guys!

Funny thing is... In the beginning I did not like the mini as well, but six suits later, it has started to grow on me!  :o

@ Chris: Glad to have drawn you in. There are some really fine minis in there! ... Tonya Hardding (wonder how many of the younger people have to google that)... do not make me do another one with a pipe!

@ Mr. Peabody: Them and Razides and Nepharites... oh and the odd corporate Warlord would not be too bad either!  ;)

@ Dentalus: Glad to have done so. It turned into a pretty demoralizing day for me yesterday. So reading the great responses here and everywhere else made my evening before going to bed.

Regarding all the keep them coming: I have 9 Hussars and 10 Etoiles Mortant on my painting table right now. When those are done, I will be through with Bauhaus until the RPG minis arrive or they release the Artillery Crops. So no more Bauhaus in the near future, but I shall start with Mishima soon. So stay tuned if you like!

I "could" really like the figure.

1) I'd lose the gear logo on the torso, looks tacky.
2) I'd build a head for the damn thing.
3) I'd add bolts, some more cables/wires...bring it more in line with the Dust aesthetic.

So I'd say it's very close to being reasonable, but at this point looks a bit too Warzone (which, personal opinion, is not a compliment) :D
