Another thing I cannot understand is the following: Why can't we use Egyptians and name them Zanzibaris?

I suppose they could be used, but the Egyptians had more "Regular" equipment and dress, wearing boots etc and carrying more pouches, packs etc than the Zanzibaris. I'm not sure, but I think they carried different rifles too.

The officers would certainly do as they were very similar. The private soldiers wouldn't look quite right to me, but no reason why you can't use them if you want to.
