The illustrations of Zanzibrari Regulars involved in the "Shortest War" wore white uniforms, black leather (possibly black shoes though probably bare feet), red tarbush (fez) hat.  British officers so I'd give them white British style uniforms, pith helmet and maybe a red pagri.

There is some information here:

That's roughly how I've done mine, although they are described by Chris Peers as having a khaki uniform for campaigning, so I've got them in a mixture of white and khaki. They look suitably different from Egyptian regulars - my Darkest Africa is fictional and the Egyptians tend to be unfriendly to the British etc, so I like them to look different.

There's a decent section on the Zanzibaris in Peers'  Foundry "East Africa" book, with plenty of uniform, flag & OOB detail. Only £15.00 GBP free postage at the moment [in the UK only, I assume], so even buying direct from Oz should be feasible. It's a great book and I would say indispensible for DA gamers.

As far as I know, it's worldwide postage.  Everytime I've ordered a book from them, I've had to pay nothing for postage to Canada.  I'm hoping this time to pick up the last three books I'm missing.  At $20US each, instead of $52, it's a great bargain.  Just hope the sale lasts until next Thursday (Payday!) at least.

I'm in NZ and its usually cheaper to buy the books through Caliver books instead of direct from Foundry, because their postage rates are so high.

BTW the East Africa book is a wonderful book.

I am not sure whether foundry issued Zanzibari regulars. I think that they are the Copplestone's castings first releases. [which are withdrawn very quickly]

They are definitely not Foundry, but are indeed Copplestone; I was looking for some a while back:

Glad someone from here picked up those two lots--from the same seller who had found a goodly quantity for me.  I was thinking about getting some more, but decided that maxing out on the "In the Heart of Africa" list was probably sufficient!

The Peers article will give you what you need; it used to be in the Foundry online library, but no more.  The Zanzibar Courage page is good, too.  But as recommended, Peers' book will give you a great deal more, and with the current sale, is excellent value.

I painted mine in the white uniform.  I had also accumulated a host of Foundry "Almost-Uniformed Askaris" to use in case I couldn't find more of the Copplestone figures, and have done those in khaki as the alternative field uniform.

It wouldn't surprise me if it re-appears in the new Foundry Compendium.

That's a good idea, which I might have to try myself. I have 20, which is good for or one TSATF or 2 GASLIGHT units, but I'd like more.

I see some great interest in those Zanzibari regulars,
Is it time for Mark Copplestone to re-issue them?

I wish he would!

I don't understand why they were taken out of production in the first place, unless it was due to some sort of legal wrangle with a former employer etc.

They are lovely figures and have more variants than some other DA figure packs, eg the Sikh infantry.

Which probably means they will never see production again  :'(

First a small correction: lreagal and not leagal.

I remember the days when there was available the info in Copplestone's website, that he reccomends that the infantry dress uniform was white [striking white, I would say] with golden rank insignia and officers knots and red fezzes. Their flag was a plain red one. Stanley [or it was Livingston?] carried one of those flags. In campaign their uniform became.... that is another story.
Also the European officers wore the same uniform (i.e. with fez). I think that the artillery was all European but had blue uniforms.

Another thing I cannot understand is the following: Why can't we use Egyptians and name them Zanzibaris?
