Actually Drunkendwarf, the game description specifically states that it focusses on exploration only, and that the period covered ends before colonisation and the formation of colonial armies - so sadly, I fear that your Force Publique figures will have to go back in their box for now.

I did read the description and am a bit confused right now  ???; this does'n look like an exploration expedition more like a British army camping trip.....

Well, maybe they just saw it as opportunity to drag out all their DA figures and have a nice big photofest so as to inspire the masses - whether the figures are appropriate or not.

It's probably a bit like all those glossy rulesets of recent years that fill their pages with photos of figures based every way except as stipulated in the rules in which they appear.

You're right Drunkendwarf...I play Congo with my French foreign legion, and in the Dahomey, so...
Let people think what they want, we are just a little that have tested the game, and that can talk about it. But you will like this game, I guess.
I stop here, me...The "specialists" discussions make me exhausted...Bye.

Personally i'd like to see a col
laboration between Studio Tomahawk and North star, maybe re-release some minis as congo starter bundles?

That would be a lovely thing- I really like the NS Africa range a great deal.

Darrell.

Also, I don't see why you can't "skin" the game with whatever figures you have on hand. Askaris are Askaris man...

What? You mean that this game is not an exact historical representation of actual exploration during the mid 1800's.  :(

Roll a six sided die;
1-5, catch dysentery and die.
6, get eaten by a hippo.

Instead..It's what? Fun?!  ;D

Well, in that case young man... Count me IN!!  ;D

Was going to point out that being set in the second half of the 19th century 1850-1900 small armies are possible....but this is an even better point, a good ruleset should be tinkered and adapted with, look at LOTOW I have used it for vbcw, colonial and other settings, at no point have gw historical come round to my house to tell me to stop.

I hope to see perhaps some new additions to the north star Africa range, it is rather good.
