I think that is a great idea!  I do have some water effect stuff... not sure if I would fill them up entireley, or what.  What do you think?

It could really add character to the board though.

My suggestion would be not to fill them completely.  I prefer to paint the slush colour in first and then add the liquid rather than try and colour teh liquid which often produces some interesting results.

Or maybe fill some, but not others? I think it will look very nice either way though.

While i liek the total look of it,

there is one Thing that disturbs me....

the narrow walkway between the plaza and the street that Comes from the right...
it makes no sense, caus eits too small to put buildings on..

so i suggest to get rid of it and increase the plaza or
make it more wider by moving the plaza a bit up and the street a bit down.

An interesting point on the one road... I was thinking it could be a nice place for a street sign or a wall or something.  But I might give it a little move to make the table more playable.

So I had a bit of extra time over the Christmas holidays and managed to finish off the Frostgrave table that was sitting around, begging to be finished.  Since the last time I posted I moved one of the roads to make the board more nicely spaced, added the sand and some rubble to the gutters.  Finally, I applied paint!

The cobbles were painted dark grey up to white with drybrushing, and the show started as a medium grey and was painted up to white.  The gutters were first painted dark grey, then brown, then dark blue, light blue, and white.  They were given a gloss coat to simulate the shiny ice and water that fills them.

I have enjoyed playing on a 2x2 table for the games I have tried, but will probably look to add some expansions to this board to make it 3x3 in the future.

2'x2' makes for very quick and deadly games in my experience.  ;)

A lovely looking board, I'd like to see it with some building on it too.  :D

Thanks, guys!

That is what we liked about it.  It got kinda boring when there were 3-4 turns of just slowly moving your guys towards the table edge while your opponent did the same, with the odd pot-shot with an arrow through cover.  Also, we found that with a 3x3 table and 6" deployment zone, you are basically playing on a 2x2 table anyway.  We just have the warbands deployed along the table edge at the start of the game.

Plus, the table took less time to build than a 3x3 one!  lol
